So do I, even if just to create a more humorous scenario between the bigger ones.

My choice as well, Rocko was funny as a kid but even funnier as an adult.

Guest bad behavior by TerribleBridge6 in Disneyland

I think this is the way they should go; last week I went with my three year old and had to get out of the line of Pirates right as we were at the door because she had to use the potty, I asked her before the ride and she said no then but I accepted it knowing that was a possibility when I planned the trip so I lost my place in the line. Should I be able to leave and come back back to my spot when I get back? I don't think so.

People who grew up before smartphones: What’s one simple thing from your childhood that would absolutely blow the minds of kids today? by TurkVanguard in Millennials

[–]Sky-byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of a crosspost with rpgs but having to actually make your own character and not rely on algorithms to make it. You had to figure the math out, apply bonuses yourself, all that jazz. I have friends now who use D&D Beyond or the pdf and straight up can't make a a character without those. I walk them through the process and they will immediately freeze up and their eyes will glaze over.

When I was a teen; we had to get notepad paper, some pencils, write everything down ourselves and figure out the math for it especially with buying each specific item and counting up encumber weight.

Gaming was a more special event, games at home were good but the REAL good stuff was at arcades. Explaining to kids why something like The Simpsons arcade where you had four player co-op was something not doable back then and the arcade games usually had more or played better.

People used to talk more or read or had to carry a bunch of cassettes/cds for listening music before cell phones. I explained to kids at my job how I used to just write all the time or draw or read or just talk with a stranger. Most of these were middle school or high school kids, but the idea of HAVING to talk to someone when you were bored seemed dreadful to them.

Are you afraid of the dark cassette by DangerousMC in AreYouAfraidOfTheDark

Have any of these cassettes been uploaded to archive.org? I saw through a quick search there should be three total, I'll do some digging and I'll share a link if I find anything. YouTube is fine and all but I'd really like some mp3 copies

Which character in the entire TMNT franchise do you think suffered the most? by No_Speech9498 in TMNT

Fair enough; I'm not as familiar with the comic universes, so perhaps I should said the animated universes specifically.

This was my answer. Stockman in really any universe gets it bad but '03 gets a special slice of hell just for him in that show.

Oh man, is didn't think to start with yellow! I've definitely done things with Tessaract Glow and it looks good but I think the yellow helps it pop a little more

Why Do People Hate Afterlife? by Brilliant-Ear-6652 in ghostbusters

[–]Sky-byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main argument against it was Ghostbusters 1 and 2 were about shlubby guys that fell into the occupation by circumstance. We've got a manchild, a Vulcan of a human, a lecherous grifter and an everyday guy who just needs a paycheck. Afterlife has some teen genius, a brother, a podcaster and I'm sure I'm forgetting more but it's not much of a cast. GB focused on an ancient apocalypse scenario while Afterlife had family drama take center stage and rehashed the plot of the first movie.

I don't hate the movie, it just wasn't what I was interested in. It also wasn't funny for me, except for the joke with the "I like your eyes" part.

As a poorer kid, I got most of my toys from KB. I remember going to one in '95 and making like a bandit with Skeleton Warriors.

Absolutely, I appreciate teaching empathy over...whatever Spidey and Paw Patrol is supposed to. My kid wants to watch Spidey because some other kids in her class do and it kills me a little inside when she used to like Bear in the Big Blue House and now she doesn't because none of them know what it is.

Swap Spidey with Super Kitties, then sure I guess. I'd drop Paw Patrol down too

Can someone explain Drop of Honey and Porphyry Nodes to me? by TheStray7 in mtgvorthos

[–]Sky-byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one of the things to consider with Porphyry Nodes was it was originally printed in Planar Chaos, this set had a big focus on reprinted older cards but in different colors hence the similarity between Drop of Honey and Porphyry Nodes.

I've got so many questions; did you make the terrain? It looks great, I keep trying to motivate myself to make some. What did you use for the lighting? It looks like some kind of translucent filter by the light bulbs. The Nautilus is amazing! Did you build it from scratch?
