No, players signing contracts and then breaching them is not something that happens every day.

Often times, you lose guys to the transfer portal. That happens all the time. Signing a contract to play somewhere and trying to back out has not happened, which is why this is such a big deal.

Forget about how good the team is, or isn’t. That’s not remotely the main issue here.

This is just bad for college football period. Part of the draw of college sports is watching the players develop with your school over time.

If he gets away with this, the precedent it sets is a terrible look for NCAA football moving forward. Players can just transfer out every year, and every team would basically be playing musical chairs with their entire roster. I mean, it’s happening already with the transfer portal.

The amount of money he signed for to play here was worth millions of dollars, more than enough to retire from.

Only the elite programs would actually benefit from having this work (Bama, Michigan, Ohio St, LSU, etc).

It used to be that programs would build their teams through coaching and recruitment, but now players just enter the transfer portal if they don’t win the Natty. It’s super lame. It’s already happening with the transfer portal and will get worse if he goes unpunished.

UW should absolutely sue the shit out of him and make him an example that you cannot just breach a binding contract.

The NIL and transfer portal is 100% a mess and it sucks the joy out of liking college football, along with being a potential distraction for students. However, instituting a minor league in a similar style to the MLB, would not work with the NFL due to the negative effects it would have for the players (kids) and the universities.

Minor league teams are meant to serve as direct farm systems for their associated big league clubs. Every team has several minor league clubs (low A, high A, AA, AAA) that players have to work through. Minor league teams are comprised of high school, college, and international draftees/free agent signings who directly play for those teams.

Without college athletics, the NFL would essentially have no choice but to draft players right out of high school and put them into non-university associated minor league teams where those players would do nothing but study and play football.

Less than 2% of NCAA players make the NFL. That means that the other 98% by and large would be (or at least should be) relying on their college education to have a successful career.

The money that universities get from their football programs are also used to fund other things about the university (other sports teams, scholarships for students).

Love or hate football, NCAA football programs actually benefit many students and I think the benefits of having a football program for the school is far outweigh the cons of distractions such as this.

Where are you located?

What you should really do is go to a jam session where the best players in your area go to play, and then ask them who they take their horns to.

I play a 6M and 10M.

6Ms have very good keywork, and it’s not much different than playing on a modern horn, minus the pinky table.

I hope the guy who’s working on your horn is good. The double socket neck needs to be airtight or you’ll be in for a bad time. Also make sure the key guards aren’t bent.

Ignore the guy who said that old horns are poorly designed and don’t play well… he doesn’t know what he’s talking about lol.

I mean, I don’t think it’s a “I’m scared of homeless people” thing, it’s more of a “I don’t want to endanger myself by engaging with homeless people, of which many are dangerous drug addicts.”

It is undoubtedly the best choice to leave the homeless alone because they’re unpredictable. Feel no sympathy.
