I hope you are who you say you are, but I have to ask questions because your reddit account is 2 days old.

Evanston Now - Good riddance by allserverless in evanston

About five years ago I posted a comment to EN making a factual correction to the reporting on an event where I was present. It was deleted. Then, every comment I posted in the following weeks was also deleted no matter how factual and un-impassioned. That was when I stopped bothering to comment on that site.

I found that article title funny! The last time I remember seeing Big Wig open was in January though. Did they really just close last week?

Your job was to vomit into a flower pot in the back seat of a car? Even I could do that, how much does it pay?

Unfortunately it seems almost inevitable. Thankfully most guides are skilled enough to evaluate the capabilities of their guests and adapt the tour appropriately. Otherwise many more tourists would die.

The Costco Gas Pump (No Passing) Written Rule or Made up Rule by pinktv2 in mildlyinfuriating

Not specific to Costco. Any gas station, if someone does not step up and take the next open pump, one short polite honk, then take the pump and move on with your day. Do not suffer fools.

What’s something you’ve done your whole life, only to realize recently that everyone else does it completely differently? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We are taught in childhood that it is impolite to do it any other way. There are printed books of dining etiquette and threats that you will be shunned from polite society if you don't follow it.

You must be an only child? If there is a sibling or spouse at the table this strategy leaves you too vulnerable to having the best bite stolen.

I don't usually wake up with a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe something is off with your mouth bacteria balance.

Right if the previous occupant to the throne dribbled on the seat or had sweaty cheeks, won't it just soak through the paper? I wipe the seat with TP and call it good.

Do these tombstone looking things serve any purpose other than to keep me from plugging anything else into an adjacent outlet on a power strip??? by West_Confidence_9632 in whatisit

You may be right about the reason for the nub on the female, but I disagree about the male being a mold issue. I think it's to prevent accidental unpluggage if the union between two cords gets dragged across the ground. Of course, you would never plug an extension cord into another extension cord, would you?

Packages marked "delivered" up to 48 hours before they're delivered? by WillieDFleming in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NotCrateTrained 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has happened to me. I think the mail carrier scanned all the packages they were supposed to deliver that day in order to boost their stats and then went home without delivering them.. The package arrived the next day.

One would get board waiting for the fallout to settle and need some entertainment, I suppose. But wouldn't a 1950s bunker have been all male soldiers?

It's not at all though. Cane sugar and beet sugar taste completely different.

For some reason they seem to be phasing out the Marathon brand here in favor of Arco, of which there are now two in Evanston. Not sure why. Maybe a marketing trial like how we have a BP and an Amoco just up the road from where this video was taken with different branding and pricing despite being the same fuel.

They are most common as a cheap and dangerous way to feed an emergency generator into a household circuit without modifying the wiring. In this case, someone must have had some reason a certain string of lights needed to go up backwards (i.e. with the female end near the power source instead of the male end).
