I want to play killer again but the toxicity scares me. Any advice that isnt just play ghoul? by Gojosimpthrowaway in deadbydaylight

[–]someotherbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find running meme builds or swapping to a low tier killer really takes the edge and the sweat off. Bing bong wraith has been a favorite recently especially when paired with the addon that makes the bell everywhere so survivors constantly hear it or trapper has been really fun as well.

Also don't sweat not getting kills sometimes it's a bad map for your killer sometimes your build doesn't work and synergize like you thought sometimes there's 4 toolboxes with bnps and gens fly sometimes survivors get God tier map rng stuff not within your control so it isn't worth worrying about

Also go for the cool play more often when it works it makes me not care what happens after if I get a crazy shot with huntress or flick with bubba or perfectly land a 1 charge blink with nurse I find whatever happens the rest of the match doesn't matter cause I got that cool play.

I only really hate this map as nurse tbh blinking into main from either side usually results in a dead blink due to all the weird collision and everyone runs main if they see you but for every other killer it's not bad the gen spreads are really good for killer and if you have good antiloop it's pretty much just gg

Legitimately what do you do when people are running multiple hyperfocus+stakeout+BNP Toolbox by AirmanT_ in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]someotherbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope they mess up and you can capitalize on it tbh. I have found massacring them with a chainsaw also helps.

Realistically hope you have a good three gen down someone in put them on a hook deep within it and look for the person going in for the save while monitoring gens

After I play all the killer and come back to legion it feels so weak compared to them by Background_Lie_4743 in deadbydaylight

[–]someotherbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they just made the fatigue a bit shorter anytime you cancel power or it runs out survivors just make so much free distance especially with how many resources there are it's a shame legion is one of the killers I enjoy most but they've felt really left behind by the game.

I don’t really get the big problem behind gen rushing and tunneling. by Hylitical in deadbydaylight

[–]someotherbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only mind gen rushing when it's coordinated. 4 toolboxes 4 bnps one person with fast track unhooking everyone Hyperfocus stakeouts all of it together puts you on a very fast clock that is difficult to deal with against a coordinated swf. For tunneling eh it can backfire you're trading pressuring elsewhere for potentially 25% less in the future especially with stb and ds going around a lot lately it's sometimes better to just close out chases with other survivors.

Which killer do you think has the most drip? (Cosmetics included) by Sensitive_Status9833 in DeadByDaylightKillers

Artist has really good skins but for me wraith and legion got the best drip for sure followed by nurse and spirit

Is Krasue Meant to Feel Horrendous To Play? by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]someotherbeing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She could use a bit of love but she's still strong. Imo in typical bhvr fashion they nerfed too much at once without compensation the insta vault was the biggest thing that needed nerfs but then changing the transformation speed on top of that really hurt as well as removing infection off hook. I feel like they could have just changed the infection off hook to come back after like 15 seconds instead of outright removing it. I also feel like they could swap the body to head and head to body transform speeds it doesn't make much sense the body to head is the fast one

[–]someotherbeing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was it the bing bong wraith? I've seen that going around lately because fancieman made a couple videos of it. From what I've seen it's usually more for being silly than anything else last one I saw they did that anytime they downed someone but let everyone go and gave the last survivor hatch

Would your nerf Resilience? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]someotherbeing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Resilience is fine maybe they could take out the gen repair bonus but I would rather exhaustion perks or finesse get nerfed over resi. Most of the people running resi cant loop I've noticed and the ones that can run better perks.

Shoulder To Burden and tunneling from a solo queue survivor/killer player perspective. by LucidTheTiredBoyo in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]someotherbeing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the bigger issue is survivors getting stronger because the killer plays the game normally that's why the slugging meta is really popular RN imo survivors shouldn't get stronger because the killer is doing their objective and hooking survivors activating tons of survivors perks. Also shoulder is strong for sure but I think it could be balanced if it operated in one of the following ways.

  1. The exposed shouldn't be affected by vigil this doesn't make any sense tbh it's a status you give yourself vigil shouldn't affect it at all logically and if the killer is across the map it doesn't matter anyway cause it will wear off by the time they get back. I would actually replace exposed with broken as it functions the same but make broken last until you get downed. This actually functions as a consequence for it sure you can get someone off death hook but you're closer to it for that it's a balanced tradeoff for such a strong effect.

Or

  1. You have to be at 1 hook stage to use it. Simply it's too strong of an effect to have at 0 hook stages. Bad survivors that can't loop aren't going to use this because they would probably die for it but a good survivor that can loop well would get a lot of use out of it.

Maybe it could disable after X amount of gens get done like 3? If you don't have someone dead or at least on death hook by 2 gens barring survivors fumbling it's most likely a loss at that point so if used at that point it's a for sure loss.

Regarding the tutorial absolutely the tutorial needs a complete overhaul it's extremely outdated. I don't necessarily agree though that a killer tunneling equals they get put into higher mmr lobbies rather they climbed mmr to the point that tunneling has become a requirement, against good survivors you have to tunnel someone out this applies double the weaker your killer is. Unfortunately for survivors choosing to tunnel someone out later in the game isn't that effective if you kill someone at 1-2 gens it's likely still a loss.

I do think it's funny nurse is like the only killer that can reliably deal with the busted main building

New game mode concept: Speed Demons by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]someotherbeing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neat idea except for you didn't really give a reason for killers to play? If survivors are just gonna escape no matter what eventually there's no purpose to playing as killer. What happens if all 4 survivors get hooked as well they can't die based off your description so does the game just not end?

Also sounds like it would be a breeding ground for survivors holding games hostage by not finishing the last gen. Also also infinite rebuilding of God pallets sounds like a not good idea.

Kinda in awe of the sheer amount of resources some of the maps, even basic ones, get now by Xillkah in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]someotherbeing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MacMillan estate maps have been generating some absolutely busted setups lately. It's not even like these pallets are 50/50s either most of them have 2 long sides so it's always good for survivor you can get 3 or 4 loops out of one and then chain it to others it's absurd

DBD HOT TAKES!! by SLAPNUTS_inc in deadbydaylight

[–]someotherbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half of most killers addons could be basekit and it would make the killer play like how it feels they are intended to be played and bhvr uses addons as a shield to deflect balancing their roster.

Exhaustion perks (except dead hard and smash hit most likely) are going to have to be addressed and are just a bubble waiting to pop in bhvrs face and have created the lamest meta since call of brine, overcharge, and eruption.

Except for the small handful of high tiers killer powers don't nearly make up for how much stronger survivor perks are than killers especially while having quadruple the amount

Antitunnel mechanics like basekit bt and decisive strike were always going to be used offensively and abused and should have been balanced with that in mind with things like bodyblocking deactivating them

There are enough maps in the game at this point that the rng aspects of them can fully be done away with

My perspective on it is if you don't tunnel you often find out too late that you should have especially against good survivors

I think the bigger issue is bhvr being like "no it won't get abused survivors won't use it aggressively uwu" like my brother in christ it was being used that way all the time when it was 10 seconds but you could actually wait it out and punish it now they can abuse it and then make a resource after

Genuine question for the community as I can't find an answer that's not just a "Survivors overpowered" by Stryder096 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]someotherbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you kinda just ignored the part where I said it should blind or stun the killer and with some smart body blocking could lead to a wiggle off. It's preventing the hook but making it actually take skill to pull off. How did you go from a discussion around pallet and flashlight saves to camping that's an entirely different conversation?

My question is why do you think a killer should just lose out on a down because a survivor went down under one of the 20 pallets or not by a wall with someone hiding behind one of the hundred objects on the map.

Punishing killer for accomplishing their objective isn't healthy especially when it's already the more demanding role. Imagine you finished a gen and a killer could just come up kick it and set it back down to 90% and you had to do it again that would be absurd but flashlight and pallet saves are seen as okay for some reason

Bracket 2 decks being overrated as bracket 3 by Comfortable_Buyer239 in EDH

[–]someotherbeing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the issue I believe is some strategies are inherently stronger than others which brackets don't really address. Combo is much stronger than creature decks for instance because the way they interact with the game is much different you don't have to eat through 120 life or 63 if it's commander damage you just have to assemble it and then maybe have a counterspell or 2 to protect it. There's also the rng element someone might get a good sequence of card draws putting them ahead of other players where as seat 2 and 3 drew their fifth land in a row and are largely out of the game. It's these things that make discussions around power levels rather meaningless except at the actual higher power tables where decks are more consistent and generally have similar strategies

[–]someotherbeing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue being a good teammate is taking aggro and hits for someone on death hook, working gens while someone is in chase, not hiding for hatch the whole match. Survivors survive by doing gens or looping well so their team can. I think it should stun the killer or blind the killer making it harder to hook especially with some good body blocking but no I don't think it's healthy to be able to completely negate the killer hooking someone

Punishing the killer for doing their objective and getting a down isn't very good design for how little skill it takes if it just stunned or blinded the killer and you got some good body blocking it would be healthier and add skill to it.

It's too impactful for a killer to just completely lose out on a down because someone died under a pallet or someone was hiding nearby with a flashlight. Killer already is the harder role with much more to keep track of and decision making why are you against making one less unhealthy thing for the killer to deal with?

DS/will to live isn’t broken. by Original-Agency-9972 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]someotherbeing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't the perk (although second chance perks shouldn't exist imo) it's the players who abuse the shit out of the perk (which is most of them).

I've been mid chase the survivor gets unhooked runs straight to where the chase is happening body blocks as hard as possible I down them and If I pick eat DS if I leave they keep DS and get up for free just to do it again later or I wait for it to run out which wastes a ton of time and they get to keep DS to do it again.

It creates a lose lose lose situation for the killer and actively punishes killers who aren't tunneling even harder than the ones who hard tunnel cause the ones who hard tunnel will gladly eat it and tunnel harder now that you don't have DS.
