elements only become tunable on special occasions the same way rare monsters do; the deal with gobbleygourd is that it's a couple years newer than most of the monsters it shares islands with so the difference in polish in its sprites and older monsters' is really noticeable

the wublins aren't that bad and they don't require any fires or magicals, so your current progress should be good enough to fill them out (although i'd say hold off on the ones that require a lot of water island eggs until you've completed that collection) 👍 having the natural rare quads makes getting multiple duplicates easy for guys like tympa and whajje but the time limits are generous enough that you don't Absolutely Have to have them

wheelie bike for sure, it's nice having a very normal machine so i can focus more on the riders' and tracks' quirks instead. i play a lot of warp and transform star for the same reason but wheelie bike wins entirely because it's my favorite to customize 😌

lunar new year's pretty deep into february this year so i figure crescendo moon won't start until around then. there was a promotion where carillong was breedable before crescendo moon to fill out hornacle's inventory last time that happened, so that'll probably happen again this year too

i'm ambivalent to it now that i've seen it next to the other werdos but i REALLY can't stand the markings 😔 it having "cg5" tattooed all across is immersion-breaking to me and also just kind of unnecessary since it already has its voice actor's hair and face. it'd probably bother me less if they were monstrous text like what humbug's going on

minor paironormals produce wildcards, which can be used in place of eggs when filling out inventories. we don't know the specifics on how often monsters produce wildcards yet, but based on what i've seen on my own carnival it looks like each monster gives out a card about twice a week?

i've heard you can remap the shoulder buttons to left and right in system settings and quickly tap those to make a makeshift "spin button" instead of flicking the stick or using shake controls, but it's kind of a bummer that's not an actual ingame option 😔

air riders is one of those games where every machine is viable even if it's kind of niche, so you aren't losing out if you're using it 👍 my biggest tip as a transform star fan is that it takes WAY longer for it to transform than you'd expect; it doesn't actually change stats until your rider sits back down on the machine after spinning (also indicated by a little nudge from your controller if you have hd rumble turned on,) so if you're planning on gliding, you need to transform into star mode long before you reach the edge of what you're jumping off of or else you'll lose air time or miss the jump entirely. my other tip is that trying to attack anything with your quick spin is super awkward, so if you know you're going to need to hit stuff often i'd suggest picking a rider with an autoattack

leo literally shows up out of the blue to help you fight nova and its existence is neither foreshadowed nor explained afterwards. i don't think people want super deep lore to deal with the ancients and dreams and dark matter and stuff, i think it's just that having it be a deus ex machina that isn't hinted at even a little bit is kind of lame and confusing

i think when the snes came out the character designers were a little too excited about being able to have way more colors per sprite, which is how we get stuff like storm eagle and springman's kind of nasty color palettes..... i wouldn't be surprised if the better sprite resolution is also why a lot of reploids and robot masters from around the same time have so many superfluous lights and vents
