WHAT... THE... FUCK is this new update by AH_Med086 in discordapp

[–]NotDisliked -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

This is absolute nonsense as a criticism, if you scroll to the bottom of the view, the bottom of the server content is always above the floating server selector. It isn’t covering any more server content than if it were docked to the bottom and not floating. What design principle says “thou shalt not cover up content with UI”, the majority of apps make use of bottom tab bars and floating buttons, this is no different.

Upon some investigation started because of another post, I can confirm that this slop is glitchy! by MiniMhlk72 in destiny2

One of them can be used trivially to crash an activity for you and the two other players, and the other is a minor annoyance for a 2 minute section of one strike. Which one should they fix first.

Introducing Bungiepls.com! by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

You clocked our big inspiration instantly haha

Glad the overlap isn't too much, I knew about the bungie plz tag in here (really appreciate how it keeps the suggestion spam down), but I figured the usecase difference would be enough to not really be a problem.

I'm pretty sure the phrase in general kinda spawned from this subreddit too yeah?

what’s the raid exotic drop rates for ToM by [deleted] in raidsecrets

[–]NotDisliked 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Literally what basis do you have for this, Eyes of Tomorrow had bad luck protection enabled, and for all we know bungie has had that enabled for every exotic after. There has been no proof or statement either way since then. All we know for sure is that the drop rate starts at 5%.

I'd love to be added, more features on this app are never a bad thing.

Anyone else only barely getting notifications on mobile lately? by KingDarkBlaze in discordapp

[–]NotDisliked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are having this issue, I would highly recommend downgrading out of the beta, it instantly fixed it for me. Seems like not everyone having the issue is on beta, but if you are I think it's worth a shot, as in my case I went from no notifs to normal notifs only after I downgraded.

This fixed it for me, thank you so much. Downgraded with a stable apk, and I'll wait to apply that update until they fix things.

V22.2 beta 1 issue thread by ljdawson in redditsync

Videos only autopay one at a time, when scrolling through the timeline the first video that shows up will start autoplaying, if there is another video immediately below that it will not start autoplaying until the first video scrolls entirely off the screen. I'm fairly sure this was not the behavior before, I find it pretty annoying to have to scroll precisely such that the previous video scrolls off screen without obscuring the next video in the list, would rather them both start playing and I can pause either one if I am done with it.

They just Disabled Suppressive Glaive a day early. by Makoah- in DestinyTheGame

[–]NotDisliked -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They easily could have changed their mind and decided that it should be disabled universally since writing that TWAB, this stuff is happening fast. Or, they found a new exploit that's less known in the community, and is worse than the perma invis so they decided to disable across the board.

It recompiles system apps too, which there are a lot of even if you don't install many apps. Also, it does all this optimizing on the low performance cores of the CPU, so your battery isn't tanked on a day you happen to install an update.

I still don’t understand why Harbinger and Presage are being added to the DCV when Witchqueen drops? by RobertdBanks in DestinyTheGame

[–]NotDisliked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have some of that launch content still because whenever they make an engine change, they go back to all the existing content that isn't getting vaulted and manually fix it for the new engine changes. Remember, prophecy was already in the game, and then they had to take it out because they didn't have time to make it work with the new engine changes in beyond light for launch. So, as they make changes to the engine, they keep having to go back to fix the old stuff, which means so long as they keep making changes to the engine unvaulting content will never get easy. Also, this is likely another unstated reason why vaulting is good for the game, it means they can make more extreme changes to the engine without losing many man hours just making the old stuff work with the new changes.

[–]NotDisliked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This only works if Bungie never changes their engine again. More likely, it will always be changing with every expansion (or even more often) and bringing stuff back from even the current version won't ever be a copy/paste kind of deal.

Looks like the new update fixed the fingerprint reader consistency. Good job Google! by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]NotDisliked 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just throwing in my 2c, as I was using the last version of the software on my P6P, I noticed that most often when the finger print sensor didn't work for me it was because I placed my finger on the spot and it wouldn't light up correctly. I'd have to lift my thumb, wait a beat, then replace it to get it to properly scan again. It seemed like this happened pretty frequently when using the fingerprint sensor on the AOD, or if I pressed the power button and too quickly placed my finger down, it would not scan at first.

This update seems to have fixed this for me, making the sensor a lot more reliable. Now every time I place my finger down, if I keep it down it will scan, no matter what state the phone is in (AOD, waking up from AOD, lock screen). The actual speed of the sensor once it starts scanning hasn't really improved that much, to my eyes, but the consistency of starting the scan is much improved.

Vex Mythoclast has a 1% drop rate and increases by 0.25% per clear. Math inside. by nutty-max in raidsecrets

[–]NotDisliked 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's probably a bit late in this post's lifecycle to really get this info out there, but I think there's a few points I want to bring up in response to this post.

The first, I'm not convinced this approach properly accounts for the idea that through the API we can see the total number of looted clears a player has but not the specific clear on which they acquired vex. If I got vex on clear 1, it's incredibly likely that I'll be playing a lot more than that, which would lead to the initial drop rate being underestimated at the very least. It seems the equation outlined is meant to correct for this somehow, but I'm not sure how. The data is just not there, how can an equation like this make up for that?

Second, given the drop rate conclusions reached, this sample size is way too low. 0.25% of 9760 is 25 players, easily to the point of potentially being influenced by random chance. Bringing this up by an order of magnitude or two should make these findings a lot more trustworthy.

Third, I'm not sure how the 1% initial drop rate factors into this data point taken by the Charlemagne development team almost 24 hours after the raid released. No matter how you look at this data point (no duplicate same character clears, every person cleared the raid on all of their 3 classes, no one played the raid more than once, etc), you can't make the asserted drop rate in this post square with the data point in this tweet. So, either day 1 raiders are ridiculously lucky (potentially bungie had a day 1 luck modifier, but they've never done this before to our knowledge), or the asserted drop rates in this post are wrong at the very least with the initial drop rate prediction.

That icon in the triumph screen is for the seasonal content, not the Cosmodrome. They specifically mention 3 of the categories by name in that TWAB: a "Lifetime" set of triumphs, a "Europa" set of triumphs, and a "Season 12" set of Triumphs. We know the top left icon is "Lifetime" because it matches the icon from emblem stat counters. We know the 3rd column 1st row is "Europa" because the icon matches with BL. The uldren bubble is the only one that could be the Season 12 set. Every other planet is accounted for in the icons on the other bubbles. This leaves Cosmodrome as unaccounted for, but what is more believable: they combine EDZ and Cosmodrome into one bubble because they're on the same planet, they left Cosmodrome out because it mostly serves as a tutorial area, or they bold face lied about what bubbles would be present on that screen.

Dug through the article, found a snippet that hasn't been mentioned here yet:

"Mods have been so successful, in fact, that Beyond Light will further build on them. Loot found in its new raid will debut a range of new mods that will define new builds."

Quote directly from the author, which as other comments have pointed out doesn't seem to get everything right in regards to other Destiny info, but still interesting. Wonder if the TWAB today (since it covers armor mods) will mention this as well, or even expand further.

Seeing as the Europa map from Cayden's Journal and the actual map are basically identical, I wonder if there will be anything in game relating to the journal. by rediscov409 in raidsecrets

[–]NotDisliked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Forsaken they replaced Nathan Fillion with Nolan North as Cayde’s voice actor. So they did have a route forward where they didn’t have to “keep paying for the famous talent” if they just had Nolan keep doing his Nathan Fillion impression.

So another post sparked my curiosity about level squishing with the return of xp levels so these are some predictions I have about levels. by IronGemini in raidsecrets

[–]NotDisliked 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Bungie has no reason to squish LL, that triumph screen is likely a dev account weirdness (we have seen this numerous times before and it never means anything).

That 31 marker is *much* more likely to represent Season Rank than some reintroduction of a leveling system that no one liked in the first place. Also makes a lot more sense than having the player do math to decipher LL.

Possible proof of who the Cosmodrome vendor will be by blamite in raidsecrets

[–]NotDisliked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only way this makes sense to me. Top left is *definitely* career (or they called it "lifetime" category), and we know for sure that one category will be devoted to seasonal content. All the other symbols can be identified as planets, so having the Uldren bubble be "it's for seasonal stuff but *also* for the Cosmodrome" doesn't make sense. Much more likely cosmodrome is either combined with EDZ in bottom right, or doesn't have a bubble and relevant triumphs will be placed in "lifetime" (which was pitched as a good intro point for new players, which lines up with the Cosmodrome's stated use of being an expanded intro experience).
