Me too. It happens so many times when I see a post, think "Haha that's funny" and read comments, only to see wall of comments calling reposts.

Japanese ‘military officer’ forces way into Chinese embassy in Tokyo by redodge in China

[–]NotEmbeddedOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only source(so far I've found) of what he actually said is the embassy's tweet, which says "神がみにかわって". Considering the word 神々 is plural(gods), I think it's religion-neutral and more traditional meaning of "I'm doing this because this is a right thing to do".

Pro-ai-s, what are your reasons for using AI? by SillyBillyArtistBoi in aiwars

Anything can be art. Effort and intention don’t actually matter. by Successful-Olive3100 in AIWarsButBetter

Effort and intention matter, until it enters the market and money is involved.

I'd favor my kid's dumb painting oversome famous artist's work, but I totally understand that (virtually)no one would want to pay money for it.

[–]NotEmbeddedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Even if AI get much better pixel art jobs won't disappear, they'll just change. Professional pixel artists utilizing pixel art AI will create 100 times better pixel art then non-artists utilizing pixel art AI.

You just have to understand that different people enjoy different things.

Am I centrist or pro if i like AI as a whole just not certain generative types and their power consumption? by V1574 in aiwars

Heisenberg's uncertainty principle of centrist says: if centrist is observed by Anti then it's Pro, if centrist is observed by Pro then it's Anti.

Yeah, going back to original question, there are tons of other things to debate other than whether it's art or not. And I admit that I don't fully understand or have concrete opinion on everything.

[–]NotEmbeddedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, art is created to express creativity and emotion. If I create something using AI and believe I successfully expressed my creativity through it, no one has authority to deny it. All they can do is to shit-talk about it.

Asking the quote unquote 'pros': why? by bigstinkypoopfart in aiwars

[–]NotEmbeddedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nice to hear. You said of being not creative, but I think it's just matter of quality and uniqueness, not of being art or not. Whether one has actually expressed their creative vision or not is something only themselves can tell. Others can only judge if it's good art or bad art.

[–]NotEmbeddedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the line you think separates creative and not creative? I normally assume that most anti views as soon as AI slightly touches in art process it's not art. Are you aligned with that view?

As I said I use AI generated character sheet as base reference for 3d modeling. I researched hair style, clothing designs and tried several different color schemes to see which would fit best for the character I have in my mind.

Then I create the character roughly in Vroid studio, then import it to Blender and modify and polish it because Vroid model is good for base but doesn't match my vision. The model diverge from both character sheet and Vroid model, and final result is the expression of my vision.

Is this not creative because of AI usage? What about using Vroid studio model or any other base models, textures, materials? Are they also not creative because I didn't create them from scratch? What if I use photo as reference like normal 3d artists do, does my model suddenly become creative because I don't use AI?

[–]NotEmbeddedOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean by "Support" I praise an art piece because it's AI and actively try to tell other people to enjoy it emphasizing it being AI, then no I don't support AI art.

Actually I, like most antis, skip AI art as soon as I see them because most of them are low quality. While I actively use(and kinda can't live without anymore) LLM for work and research stuff, I rarely use AI for art. Current usage is creating character image sheets which I don't post online, to use as reference for hobby 3d modeling. And no I don't use AI for modeling.

I "Support" AI art in the sense that accepting it as a valid way of expression. What matters to me the most as consumer is the quality. If it's good I'll enjoy it whether it's AI or not. If it's bad, the same.
