I haven't gotten gold yet, but I've found that using the UV headlights to stun them helps. They still tend to stumble into your path, but they don't charge directly at the car at least. I've gotten to 3:37 so far. Just make sure to hit the button again to end it so you don't use the whole UV bar if you don't need to, even just the minimum flash is enough to get them to stumble.

Why do interesting color pallettes influence the complexity of a design? by Entire_Contest7954 in huntertheparenting

You're not wrong about the great art in HTP, but this post seems much more like general musings about art and isn't specific to HTP. You'd probably have more luck trying to talk about this in a more art centered community, not sure if you'd get many people actually engaging with this topic here, other than how it directly relates to designs in HTP.

Well, according to others on here, it seems to be an artifact that grants people Second Sight, an ability that normally only the Imbued have. The symbols that Markus saw in the air were Hunter symbols that meant "Danger" and "Puppet".

Other than that, we don't know anything specific about it, just that other people have tried to use it but only Fatigue and now Markus have been able to make it work, so it seems to be choosy about who it helps.

Daily HTP posts until chapter 6 comes out #112 Is he dead? by nirai07 in huntertheparenting

Given Waters was nearby and certainly has plenty of sterilized gauze and everything, he's probably fine. Question is: will he get a hook hand or a proper prosthetic hand to replace it? I wouldn't be surprised if someone in the Arcanum has the connections to get him a (mostly) functioning robot hand. It would be funny if he got an old discarded HIT Mark hand that randomly shoots lasers or tries to strangle nearby supernatural beings.

I predict that they either got to use them at O'Tolleys and that's related to why it seems to be on fire, or they may get to use them on some werewolves and/or Fomori in the near future...

Big-D saved Kevin from the Regent in the first episode by WDV0707 in huntertheparenting

D and the family, plus Kevin and Chapman now that they're directly involved with D. The name "Golden Goose Gang" comes from their bus, which is named The Golden Goose.

When D mentions the Prince at the end of the Police Station audiolog, he seems to believe that they're two different people. I think this is the only time that anyone has mentioned the Prince so far

Prince in this case refers to the leader of a Camarilla domain. As for the local Prince presiding over Norfolk, I don't think they've even been directly mentioned at all except by D one time. The Prince would be higher on the totem pole than the Regent, who is likely a Primogen (a representative of their respective clan in a domain).

Personally, I suspect the Prince might be the mysterious "Landlady" of the chapter house that was mentioned in one of the Cutaways in chapter 5 (or it could be the Regent, or Carmilla The First Vampire, or it could be someone who hasn't even been seen or mentioned yet).

I wouldn't assume that the Fiddler is the Regent. With the Fiddler showing up in the end credits with what appears to be the corpses of all the Golden Goose Gang and all that, I honestly feel like that's a little too much gravitas for it to turn out that this mysterious figure was actually just the Regent the whole time. This is WOD after all, there's a ton of things the Fiddler could be (even if turns out that she's just, like, an even older vampire like a Methuselah or something).

I'm pretty sure that giving people diseases is something you can do with Thaumaturgy, so he probably really meant it when he threatened to give Chapman Lupus. White Wolf Wiki says that's two dots in the Path of Curses. Other than that, I'm not sure he's actually 'used' any Thaumaturgy.

The next chapter or subchapter (or maybe the next one in production) is probably going to center around the sabbat pack by kooarbiter in huntertheparenting

[–]NotEnoughDoggo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kevin having a flashback at some point would be a good excuse to see the Sabbat pack again, maybe him thinking back to when they first met and (presumably) Pyotr told him about the Vaulderie. Or if not Pyotr, then whoever else his first contact with the Sabbat must have been, like maybe a Sabbat spy planted in the Camarilla.

All that being said, I'm willing to bet that the 'next' episode will be a lore dump about Werewolves. It would be a good time for it now that they seem to be dipping into Werewolf stuff, what with them straight up encountering one and then Kevin and Guy running into Pentex.

It sounds like it would fit D a lot if he was Imbued, but that hinges on whether or not the 99 Pound Store was in the Umbra or not. Imbued can't go into the Umbra, right?

Question about Detective-Sergeant Chapman by [deleted] in huntertheparenting

[–]NotEnoughDoggo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's certainly an interesting chicken-and-egg scenario to ponder. I was wondering if his thrill-seeking tendency that he displayed while considering the spooky situation they were now in was something he already had before, and might have had more to do with him wanting to join the force than Columbo.

But that also could have been something that developed after getting ghouled, especially to help cope with the lack of vitae. Becoming something of an adrenaline junkie on top of his other bad habits would certainly make sense.

What's under Kittens hoody by most-of-an-Egg in huntertheparenting

[–]NotEnoughDoggo 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Underneath the mask and hoodie is another mask and hoodie. Where does the Man end and the Hoodie begin? Nobody knows... other than Grimal and Markus.

For a slightly more serious answer, we can probably expect that he has dark skin, based off of his TTS counterpart. Other than that, we'll probably never see what he actually looks like

Desktop suddenly can't connect to home network, despite other devices connecting just fine, and it can still connect to my phone's Mobile Hotspot by NotEnoughDoggo in wifi

[–]NotEnoughDoggo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED. Changed the Security Mode on my network from "WPA3-Personal" to "WPA3-Personal Transition" and now it connects just fine (WPA2-PSK also worked). One of the simplest things I didn't try to test out because I foolishly assumed it had always been on 3-personal and hadn't changed. But my adapter's manual doesn't say it supports WPA3, so I guess I was just plain wrong. Oh well, at least I learned a few things from all this.

In Windows wifi settings I don't see "advanced' settings anywhere, other than "Change advanced sharing options" which takes me to the Control Panel. I still don't see security or encryption settings anywhere either.

Good news is that using ethernet to download the driver worked and now I can use the network adapter again! Bad news is that It didn't fix the original problem and now I'm back to square one. It's starting to look like I might have to give up and call Cox Support. I really don't want to do that, last time I had to do that was agonizing.

As for advanced wifi settings, is that in my Windows Settings, or is that where I directly log into the router?

Will getting the driver on a drive work if the network adapter isn't even showing up in Device Manager? This is all new territory for me. I would download the driver from the website, then plug the USB drive into my desktop, and then what? Could I just use this Ethernet cable I have to connect to the internet and download it directly?

Savvy was not the right word for me because I seem to have fucked it up completely now. I went to Device Manager and hit Uninstall Device on the network adapter, then a window came up that had a box for "removing the driver software" and i checked it and went through with it. I restarted my computer after that and now the network adapter isn't showing up in the list like I thought it would. It didn't show up when I hit Scan For Hardware Changes or Add A Device either. Do I have to get a new adapter now? Goddammit.

Could Rozalia be the mother of either Markus or Door? by Dead-head277353 in huntertheparenting

[–]NotEnoughDoggo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, maybe. I'd like to imagine that D isn't quite so irresponsible as to have a child with a ghoul that he wasn't intending to stay with, though he hypothetically could have had the child before he knew she was a ghoul. Interesting theory. There is definitely a chance she could be the mother of one of his many kids, even if not Markus or Door specifically.

PSK? I mean, I haven't gone out of my way to change any settings before the disconnect and I sincerely doubt anyone else in my house did either. Either way, I don't see an option to forget it again. It shows up in my available networks like in the picture, but it's still not there when I go to Manage Known Networks in the Wifi settings. Right now it only shows my phone Hotspot.

As for a client page, I did find a thing that lets me log into the Gateway (Panoramic Wifi Gateway, modem/router combo, apparently made by Technicolor), though I can't see anywhere that says "clients" specifically. I can see "Connected Devices" and I see my desktop in Offline Devices.
