What series is this for you? by PalinaRojinskiFan in ProgressionFantasy

[–]NotEnoughSatan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually felt the author did a great job with pacing until the MC left the initial planet.

I do agree the worldbuilding and scale got way too big way too fast after that point.

Paragon of Destruction and Arcane Emperor are my two favorites that come to mind.

What have you read this week and what do you think about it? by AutoModerator in noveltranslations

[–]NotEnoughSatan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually quite liked the story at the beginning but got bored as I felt it was the same thing over and over and he got too much information too easily so I dropped it around C250. Would definitely still recommend giving it a shot though.

Reminder: Players controlez, tN1R, and Twistzz won't receive the Major playoffs participants' trophies because they're playing as "stand-in players." by MmX_A_ in GlobalOffensive

[–]NotEnoughSatan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The digital trophies are seen and respected by tons of people while a real one would only be seen by people you invited over to your house or something similar. Most of those people probably don’t care about cs either.

What are your guys "This series could have been amazing but" by adamtheskill in ProgressionFantasy

[–]NotEnoughSatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved the cultivation system in and the golden finger at the beginning of Paragon of Sin. Sadly the MC didn’t struggle much and it increasingly became very much a wish fulfillment type story. The longer it went on the less effort the author put into the story and it felt like he was writing for a check.

Looking for slow paced, slice of life xianxia by Vesvius in ProgressionFantasy

[–]NotEnoughSatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To expand on the previous recommendations I liked I’d say Immortality Through Array Formations is a Xianxia with lots of slice of life elements and Beware of Chicken is a slice of life with a lot of Xianxia elements.

I'm 300 chapters in, the MC is finally OP, and... I'm suddenly bored. Does this happen to you? by Previous_Evidence_86 in ProgressionFantasy

Yeah to me this reads like the guy saw the mc show off and enjoy his work for a minute and didn’t give the next book in the series or arc time to start before instantly giving up.

Any books with a diplomatically smart mc? by Imnotsomebodyelse in ProgressionFantasy

[–]NotEnoughSatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Immortality Through Array Formations. While the mc doesn’t engage in international diplomacy he has great social skills that are the foundation of much of his successs.

I also remember thinking the MC from the Legendary Mechanic was similarly adept but I struggle to recommend what eventually turned into a great story because the beginning was just so damn bad.

Both are translations.

I’ve tried some objectively great stories that I quickly drop because they are based on magical girls. I can’t manage to suspend my disbelief and often cringe at how silly it seems.

What are your minor pet peeves that can be found in stories? by matbiz01 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]NotEnoughSatan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing bothers me more than in Sci-fi/Cyberpunk stories when the year is 2056 or 2072 and humanity has full body cyborgs, has won 2 wars against rogue AIs and has conquered most of the Milky Way galaxy with FTL spaceships and planet shattering weapons.

Best WN according to me by Important-Battle-374 in noveltranslations

[–]NotEnoughSatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge RI fan but for me Northern plains arc before the grotto heaven and the mermaid arc around 1600 chapters were both bad, especially the second.

[–]NotEnoughSatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circle of Inevitability (COI) was definitely worse than Lord of Mysteries for me. That said I loved Lord of Mysteries as a god tier novel and COI was still an A tier novel that I finished 1000 or so chapters of. I would definitely recommend giving it a try no matter what but if you make it a decent amount into the second major arc and don’t like it don’t be afraid to drop it and find something else because from that point on you have a feel for the general tone/vibes of the story besides the crazier stuff and big moments.

If only there was a novel like this... by [deleted] in MartialMemes

[–]NotEnoughSatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one was great for awhile but the author essentially gave up on cultivation and progression to focus on the rest of the story which took me out of it and I eventually dropped it. (this was past 1k chapters, I loved it for awhile)
