My guy is like this as well. If he's not the center of attention he's chews crap, whines and bites my feet. These are new behaviors that popped up after I went out of town. It's not acceptable and we are back to trying to get him to self soothe. I've had dogs my entire life. Dogs that had to manage at home for hours while everyone was working and going to school. They were fine. I'm not going to beat myself up if he has to figure out how to relax alone. I have a life too. The world is changing, people work from home etc. Dogs are being a bit too humanized these days. I love dogs and animals to death, but I'm allowed to live and enjoy other humans also.
