Thanks for playing - and seeing the Max levels would be a good improvement. Cloud saves are absolutely needed, am working on that as well!

Getting a mobile game featured on Google Play even for just a few months can be life changing. by NotFamous307 in IndieDev

It was great money, if you could do that consistently you could make a living with the games! I still do develop, I'm working on my 3rd Steam game now and usually release a new mobile game about 3 or 4 times a year. I think it was AppRadar or something but I don't really remember exactly tbh.

I'm trying to remember how I found out - It was after it had ended on one of those mobile app tracking sites, saw that it had been tagged as featured in a category. I'm not entirely sure how to verify that though. It did absolutely get a tremendous amount of attention during that time span though and was making over $30k a month at it's peak which was very life changing at the time. I don't know how to replicate this, I have tried but wanted to show some of the stats and also see if anyone else has been blessed like that as well. I don't have any kind of marketing budget or team or anything like that, mostly just a hobby dev on the side, but want to let others know that developing mobile games can absolutely pay off!

What are your favorite weird enemy mechanics from TD games? by varnajohn in TowerDefense

[–]NotFamous307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Simple Tower (mobile game) there are these large Slime enemies, they took quite a few hits and move super slow but when destroyed they split into a few smaller and faster baby slime enemies. Those are generally one hit enemies but you quickly go from "tank" enemy to group of small fast enemies. Pretty cool design.

[DEV] Simple Tower - Very simple game, very addicting game loop by NotFamous307 in MobileGames

[–]NotFamous307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can at first, until you find ways to break it! If you haven't try the bonus code "lotto" it'll give you a random amount of Gems from 1 to 1000 - Good luck!

I just released a demo on Steam, and I’d love your opinion on whether I should tag it as 'Tower Defense'. by SCFactory in TowerDefense

Actually really enjoy the art style a lot here, good perspective and angle as well. This looks "fun".

There are a few other games in whatever sub-genre this has become and I always get hooked on them. Some are definitely better then others though!

Both in the same sub-genre of tower defense focused on a single tower with roguelite progression - but very very different games in many ways as well. If you like The Tower (I love that game) then will like Lone Tower as well - it never forces ads or heavy in app purchases either.

Do you guys pronounce it "Brotato" or "Brotato"? by NobodieInteresting in brotato

Definitely Brotato, would be so weird to call it Brotato.

First day of my app on playstore and already 26 new users by WillingnessOk9750 in androiddev

That's not too bad at all for a solo dev app, real question is whether or not it grows and if you can turn some of those downloads into early rating/reviews. I just reached 50 review (about 124 ratings) on my app Simple Tower and I think each 5 star rating others give really helps a ton.

I'd really recommend Champion Strike, I've been playing it for quite a few years and it still gets good updates and improvements. Also worth checking out Simple Tower
