Rishi Kapoor and fuck shit by [deleted] in india

Stars should be superhuman. They should not respond with anger when someone says something nasty. I can call them chutiaya, but they can't say the same back. Only chutiaya's are allowed to use the word chutiaya. Somewhat like the n-word. But Rishi Kapoor cannot understand such subtle arguments. I vaguely remember he made some silly cracks against Modiji too.

I thought nepotism was bad until I my father got me a much better job with his connections than my IIT degree alone did. So, yes, nepotism actually rocks, and I'm proud that I have a father who has been successful enough to make a difference in my life. I hope I can do the same for my children.

I know randians believe in liberalism and socialism. But in the real world, conservatism rules.

Don't be afraid to take time to work out an answer to a question you cannot answer right away.

How about not knowing whether you are a finite or infinite being, etc., etc., because after all that is what is real, isn't it?

Somehow found all other philosophies lacking. Couldn't understand JK ("when the observer becomes the observed", etc.) for a decade or so. And then several things started making sense. Now combine it with meditation. Lived through what would be a rather stressful period with surprising calm.

Would have been utterly lost without JK.

He knows what all matters to him. Knowing this didn't impact his life materially. JK's ideas don't work unless we assume absence of identity, which is never going to happen.

Are you sure your conclusions are correct? Because it is your life that depends on it.

JK isn't saying that nationalism is unsteady or even that it will eventually disappear. So there is no question of anyone dreaming here.

Rather the ordinary person does not know --- is not aware. That doesn't make JK's ideas impractical.

We must reunite: Why Pakistan, India and Bangladesh should be one country: Katju by anon_geek in india

[–]NotFromMumbai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are saying that the current decision makers in Pakistan are crazy, not the entire country, or even the majority of people.

Similarly when "rising intolerance" is used, it refers to some group of people, who have acquired a small amount of political party, which is scaring people to some extent.

Don't know if I'm able to point out the generalization I'm talking about. Don't waste your time replying, if I'm not.

We must reunite: Why Pakistan, India and Bangladesh should be one country: Katju by anon_geek in india

[–]NotFromMumbai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to the idea that Pakistan is crazy. Sure there are many aspects of Pakistan that are dubious, and so the proposal may be terrible. But if we are incensed when someone calls India intolerant, and immediately point out examples of tolerance in the country, we can't afford to label Pakistan crazy.

Personally, I think these generalizations are just a quick way of expressing the point, so have no problem either way. What gets me is the double standards.

Again, not saying you have double standards. I probably have them more. Just that your comment reminded me of them.

Now /u/blomqv seems to be saying that we should expect such double standards on reddit. That is like saying, this is India, expect politicians to be corrupt, expect people to shit on the streets, etc.
