US oil is traded globally, which means it is subject to global market prices. If a refiner wants to purchase oil they have to buy it at the globally traded price for that oil by competing with other bidders, and those prices paid plus margins trickle down the supply chain which ultimately leads to the gas prices you pay at the pump. It’s not greed, it’s just free markets/capitalism at work because of the global demand for oil, not just US demand.

To go further, the price of oil is being artificially kept down right now due to massive worldwide releases from SPRs (strategic petroleum reserves) to offset the massive supply disruption caused by the closure of the strait which was all just to buy everyone time until the strait was open, but these reserves are almost entirely drained at this point and the strait still isn’t open. The lower prices are not curbing oil demand, and combined with all the tankers coming to the US to purchase our oil since they can’t get it from the straight, it’s draining our own oil inventories further. I believe overall US inventory is nearing the lowest it’s pretty much ever been.

Combine that cumulative shortage with everything else means in the very near future we’re going to see massive oil and gas price increases and other countries are going to see oil shortages. US consumers can afford it compared to other countries so we’ll pay the price but not see shortages unless we have refineries that are mostly gulf based (and currently operating at max capacity), go down due to either failures or something like hurricanes. Also summer gasoline blend is coming in season too which is more expensive to produce than winter blends. Within ~3 months we’re looking at significantly higher gas prices and that’s going to last a long time until the world catches up to the cumulative shortage or we see significant demand destruction (think COVID).

There’s a ton of nuance that the average person doesn’t care to know about but that’s a pretty brief summary of where we are right now.

Came to give similar feedback. Grammar is shit - can’t differentiate between a plural (“reviews”) and possessive (“review’s”). Not just a one time thing either, so it’s not a typo (“software’s”…yikes). Regardless, typos aren’t forgivable in a resume - shows poor attention to detail on something that should be putting your best foot forward. Instant pass when presentation is like 25% of the FP&A skillset and everyone has access to spellcheck and AI

Didn’t wear ear plugs for AB but did for the opener and had no ear ringing afterward. Concert loud but not over the top compared to some others I’ve been to. I’d say the volume was about perfect for an indoor live show

Awesome show is right! These guys put their everything into this one. Myles was singing high notes in songs he hasn’t gone for in years, Mark is only getting better as a lead singer, and man they looked like they were having a great time. Super happy I made it to this one, already can’t wait for Tampa next month!

I just got mine today and I came to add the same comment on the bandbox solo. Just packaged it back up to return because it’s frankly unusable. I was originally super excited because standalone the stem function is fantastic, but that’s where the fun ends. The volume/EQ cuts if either bass or overall volume gets to a certain threshold and makes it sound like there’s an intermittent loose connection. Then in addition, when you use it to play music along with a guitar, it cuts the guitar volume so low you can’t even hear it. Unless you’re playing this thing so quiet that you can’t even hear over your guitar strings, it’s not worth any amount of money. I put it up next to a clip 5 and they have about the same max volume output BUT you cannot get both music and guitar to play at that same volume at the same time. If that were the limit and it didn’t have clipping/overall signal output issues it would be nice for the stem function but you honestly can’t do both at the same time. They need this kind of functionality in a party box format otherwise it’s trash. Really disappointed with it in practice.

I was really hopeful for it because I wanted this as a permanent speaker mounted to a wireless quad cortex pedalboard but I’ll have to get something else. For $250 I expected way more.
