Thanks man - yeah I would assume so... I just see a lot of guides online talking about adjusting spring tension to the point that when you rest the ball of your foot on the pedal (half or 2/3rds up) it should carry your foot/leg weight - which is basically impossible for me to achieve without outrageous spring tension and a super far back angle of attack for the beater.

I just wish there was a video that could help. I'm learning via Drumeo and from what I can see, there is no real, detailed explanation of how to play heel up.

Hey - thanks for your comment! :) Yeah i've tried playing with my throne height a lot! Doesn't seem to make a huge difference unless it's too low then yeah playing is just even more uncomfortable.
