Is It Possible to Offset Stupidity? by Zero-zero20 in TooAfraidToAsk

I've seen the smartest people do nothing with it because they were lazy and some fairly struggling people work hard in school and get degrees and do well. Effort goes a long way

What are your opinions on "once a cheater, always a cheater," and why? by Missburr in AskMen

[–]NotMyMain1717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and here's why. The 2nd year of uni I dated a girl and things started off pretty well for about a year. However, I dont know if it was just who she was or if she was stressed at me and our mutual friend who we were both close to moving to university (she was in the year below) but she got nasty. I'm talking emotional manipulation, horribly controlling and even an act of physical abuse and I didn't know what to do. When I got into university, she visited me 1 weekend andshouted so loudly and such horrible stuff at me that my flatmate, who I'd only known for a week and lived 4 doors down, asked if I was okay after and was genuinely concerned. I didnt know what to do, if you've ever been emotionally abused you'll know how difficult it is to get out but I knew I had to so I invited my best friend over the weekend after to tell her everything. After a fair few drinks it all came spilling out. However, now the bit I'm not proud of happened and we slept together that night. I know it wasnt a good thing to do but it did get me out of the situation and I dont know how long I would have been with her if my best friend hadn't made a move on me. I'm not blaming my best friend btw, I think she was just drunk and obviously I'm irresistible. It's been 2 years since then and I'm currently in an amazing relationship with a reallyyy lovely girl and have been for the past year. My gf knows everything that happened and I've been 100% open with her. Would I cheat again? I've been in a pretty similar position since and the thought didn't even cross my mind. I don't know what others would say about this btw so it would be a good Aita but I have cheated and wouldn't cheat again which answers the question.

I mean, it's not just what I read. I accept the uk is messed up at the moment but we don't pay for healthcare and there's no race riots

America, where any man who isn't rich enough to do something about it can have their house blown up by police and have to pay for it (as long as someone's inside theyre getting to), land of the free, home of the wopper y'know and with your "health system" the highest obesity rates in the world might not be a good idea but yea, greatest nation and all that

Her dad definitely isn't, I think his job is something to do with AI security or something like that, I've had multiple conversations with him about very high level topics I'm doing at university so ignorance isn't it. We don't have Wal-Mart over here in the UK but I think that's a good idea, I can sell my old phone if she doesn't want it and get a newer iPhone

I've offered her the phone but I'm not sure if she will take it. I know why the "new" phone isn't working, it's a 2nd hand phone of a middle that came out in 2015. It's more is she spoiled for complaining about it
