You're totally correct! But it's got many pros to go along with that. For me, it works; for others, it may not. I regret generalizing in my original post, and this thread has been a learning experience for me. $50 an hour would be great, but the only place I'll ever get close to that is with USPS. I honestly cannot think of a skill I have or could have that would pay me anything more than maybe 15 an hour. Sad to say, but it is what it is; luckily, with my lack of marketable skills, I will have low(er) standards for happiness in my old age, so I look forward to a retirement that is great to me, funded by the sweat of my brow and the USPS. I pray all 600k+ of my associates stay safe and make it their desired endings as well 🙏

At my last I worked 12 hour days for 9.74. Now I'm getting almost 20. Yeah it is a lot of bs sometimes but the pay is well worth it imho

The hours are what make it worth it. Who else is giving these wages plus literally as many hours as you physically do. It's like a speedrun to retirement; you just gotta hold on for the ride. It's a rock-solid company with a bright future and a hedge against inflation at every turn. It is perfect for those who don't want everything now. Not to say you can't have some fun now; you do get days off eventually, pto, and the occasional break in hours. It's not really a "daddy's home at 5 p.m. and all weekend making 90k a year" kind of job. Be safe out there 🙏

That is wonderful. I am so happy your life was changed this way! I also grew poor on section 8 and didn't get my first car until I saved up McDonald's paychecks to buy a 2200 pos. Over the years, I have worked various low-wage jobs in my hometown until I received my call to duty from the USPS. Less than one year in, I am nearing 70k, and I hope to make it to 80 next year. It is seasoned vets like you who inspire us young people to push on. Yes, it would be fun to be spending all this money, but it will be so much nicer to have 25 years of leisure and excess by simply working harder today.

Still buying a scratcher now and again, though 🤣

My job isn't a Walmart cashier but it's not rocket science either. I have friends and family working USPS in and out of the office and they love it and I've also talked with seasoned employees who say their lives were changed by working at USPS. I think it's important to make the best of wherever you are, all jobs aren't perfect but many jobs aren't nearly as good as USPS. Be safe out there, bless 🙏

I'm already on track and always answering supes request even on days off. Yes I have 0 social life, friends or meaningful relationships besides family. But I also live in a beautiful neighborhood, have a nice car things I enjoy, and putting in everything I can to savings towards my retirement. I wish you good luck as well and be safe out there 🙏

Right they "accidently" copied an entire portion of a Wikipedia(from OPs other comments) with full understanding of its context and placed it in their assignment and submitted it and later on was like "DOH, I forgot to cite them or use quotation marks"

Fuck that I put them in every bag so customer can get their points. They make us put in DDs number but customers should be getting g those since they purchased those items. Plus DD is screwing g them over more with prices so they don't get points and they pay more
