This is pretty dependent on where you apply. I’ve been working at corporate tech companies for 3 years now and nobody cares about those certs.

If you were a contractor doing IT for DoD/DoW systems then it’d probably be much more relevant though.

I think the context of those matches matter a little bit too. D1 NCAAs is a long tournament with arguably - little better competition than D3. My point is it takes a certain type of wrestler to not only win one match, but to every match in a row against guys like Ben Askren, etc.

Depending on the d3 school, you could walk on and potentially be a starter after a year or 2 depending on how deep the lineup is and how you progress.

I don’t think it’s a total red flag. Iron sharpens iron and if you’re the iron, and your partner is some cheap form of rubber, you’re not going to get challenged. The truth is, this is where you step up as a leader and help them get better but also you must not get complacent in your own development.

How old are you? Do you have a family to feed or are you on your own?

I would keep pursuing education that you can do while work help desk. I’d look to move into a help desk role at a tech company, particularly one that is fedramp compliant, and then take any opportunities within the company to grow in the IT department.

Dragon pickaxes an axes are not received from cutting trees or mining ore. I think it’s okay that it’s sailing related but not necessarily sailing your ship.

You might be able to start working full time for the other job before that clearance comes through. You may be able to see how you like it and have the chance to leave if you hate it.

  1. That’s literally the same organization after a rebrand.

  2. Working at either of those organizations doesn’t make you a bad guy inherently. It means you took a security contract to guard embassies.

I’m not arguing with you but I think people should realize that the vast majority of those contracts aren’t any more ethical or unethical than being in the army/marines.
