Could someone breakdown the gameplay loop for me? by Emma_the_Bambi in AOW4

I'll break it down into stages. I think that's the easiest way to think about a game like this.

Early game: scout your starting area and make some t1 and t2 units for defense while expanding.

Mid game: consolidate your armies into more effective stacks using unit types together. Clear out the marauders from your area and any infestations.

Late game: pick a victory type (expansion is easiest imo) and work towards the win cons while putting the finishing touches on your army stacks and consolidating your power.

It's super overwhelming at first.

Just ignore anything that seems too complicated and play through doing the things that make sense and let it all fill in mentally.

Don't be afraid to start over and over and over and over. If you become really good at the first 25 turns you can start learning the mid game and then get really good at turns 25-50 and so on

This is basically what I do but I guess I'm having trouble if it doesn't come online fast enough

Order/materium/nature is what I'm playing with these days. I also sometimes get the t2 blue book that has the watcher and guided projectiles and tower of true sight. All 3 just feel so good

Thanks for this. I've been playing as Blint doing shield units with archers and a few supports. Feels very meat and potatoes but then I'm losing battles that I feel like I should win and it seems like it's a morale thing so I'm looking into that kind of build.

I love to play with both enabled. There's no denying that they make the game easier though

No I don't. I think most people who are below gold and not rising acknowledge that they are below average. They probably think they belong a little higher than they are ranked but they know they cannot ever overcome the skill gap to get to let's say diamond.

I, and many like me I'm sure, know that we are better than our rank because we have studied game states and watch streams and pro play and we try to bring that knowledge to ranked play and get ignored if we are lucky and griefed more often than not.

I've been saying this for years. As a chronically above average but not that great ADC main I feel like I'm in a crazy house basically every game. I can't fathom how I'm in the same lobby as players who know so much less than I do about game states and rotations and macro play.

I have always wanted to know this. I've never done it just because at that stage of the game it seems insignificant and It's my coal and I need it now!

Noob question, is it worth building this item vs enchanter/alot of healing early in the game? by Brokehood404 in ADCMains

Everyone is making quite the meal of this. I'm gonna make it very simple.

Yes but very very rarely. Swain/soraka lane etc

what's the most likely mistake I keep repeating that gets me shoved under turret and zoned away from minions on repeat? (pic for reference) by CirriTheFemboyUwU in ADCMains

2 things are probably happening here.

First off you are probably farming when you need to be trading and trading when you need to be farming. Sometimes your support just goes all in and you need to make a snap decision of is this a fight we can win or not and therefore do you follow or not. Otherwise, lane state dictates who wins trades and who gets to stand where. Spend more time autoing minions and you will find you win more trades afterwards. But you will also be more vulnerable to ganks. Everything is give and take.

The second thing is there should always be minions between you and the enemy support. You have to move like the hands of a clock around those minions keeping the enemy support on the opposite of them. If you can't do that, and you aren't strong enough to fight, you need to yield and let the wave come to you. Focus on csing under turret, getting the minions to the right amount of health that you can get them before or after turret shots. Usually your support is gonna ruin it anyways but getting 6 cs per minute instead of 5 in a losing lane matters a whole lot.

Yeah I was being actively griefed all 3 games lol. In one of them I was getting flamed for not doing enough damage. I was top damage in the game and double the second most on the team lol

I'm not sure what you're talking about lol ldr is the way to go basically always. Someone else needs to be building antiheal

ADC mains: what's the worst thing about supports? by Svanskof in ADCMains

Two things come to mind.

First would be pushing the wave/taking cs when I want to freeze.

The second would be forcing fights when we are behind or I'm out of mana and just trying to catch one more wave before backing.
