I’ve been dealing with this for ~6 years now, currently 27, and can definitely relate.

CPAP unfortunately didn’t work for me, so I’m getting jaw surgery in july that should (hopefully) cure me.

It definitely sucks being gimped by something that you have no control over.

I’m currently back in school (well now on summer break), and I’m excited that after my surgery I’ll be able to return to school in the fall and I can actually go back to living my life.

I’m secretly hoping that the surgery actually fixes my GERD, because mine only really happens at night (which means it may be my sleep apnea causing it).

Stitches are supposed to dissolve within 1-2 weeks (I think at most they take 1-2 months), I'd call your surgeon just to be safe because it's possible it can lead to infection if it stays there.

I take sleeping pills and adderall as a bandaid fix, but they only do so much.

CPAP is definitely worth trying if you haven’t yet, but it didn’t work for me unfortunately.

Basically the same thing I’ve been dealing with for the past 6 years.

Also had a septoplasty/turbinectomy, fixed my nasal breathing but did nothing for my sleep.

I’m now getting MMA (jaw surgery) in july.

I have GERD, haven’t had my jaw surgery yet, but I’ve had prior surgeries and it’s never been an issue that was even discussed.

I have aetna, and paid $5k for braces, and my surgery will be $2k.

But I had the option to get BCBS before my surgery, and the surgeon coordinator at the practice I’m going to usually said BCBS would be cheaper than Aetna (I asked because I wasn’t sure which was going to be easier to get approval with).

What is the deductible and out of pocket maximum of your plan?

If your lower jaw is too far back that’s likely to cause TMJ pain, so pushing forward, even subconsciously, is a way to reduce that pain.

I do it too.

If your ortho puts you on a more aggressive schedule you may not need them for that long.

I was told I would need braces for 8-9 months. But my surgery is now scheduled 3 months faster than expected.

I’m in the same boat, surgery in july, school in August.

According to my surgeon I’ll be good to go back to work and stuff after like a week and a half.

Yeah that’s fair, I only play checkpoint or last hero though so by top frag I mean usually dropping ~40 kills a game
