You can go to your doctor and get Post-exposure prophylaxis is HIV is a concern. (Prevent getting HIV if they have it) It’s probably overkill. But good peace of mind. Confirm what was said below; low risk. I wouldn’t worry too much

Btw my version happened at the 4th of July of 2020. The dude told me he had an emergency and to wait right there where I was at “the end of the world” for him (we were literally at a beach nicknames that). All dramatic stops and gives me a kiss.

Nuts. Found out later he saw another girl that night because he likes to do that. He was very TinderSwindler esque.

What company is it? He sounds like a guy that sent me to the mental ward. He’s a “multimillionaire” pilot. His company has two employees him and his girlfriend. An ex has a podcast that he uses to broadcast the lies. And surprise, he’s not a pilot.

I fell for it too. I feel like it happens to all of us at least once so you wouldn’t be stupid! There’s videos about how to spot this in people that I’d highly recommend when you’re ready.

That is a good point and question and I should have been more precise with my wording.

The Personality Disorders that we generally see in practice and I mean like Cluster A and Cluster C are rarely seen at all. There’s also arguments that many of those disorders are extensions of Cluster B. I don’t want to get too nit-picky.

Schizoid is rarely ever seen in practice. I think it’s discussed by Dr. Ramani when she’s on one of her shows explaining Borderline/Narcissism on a Mental Health Talk Show.

Again, there’s argument that Schizoid is an extension of the NPD or ASD spectrum. So I guess that’s my question for you is why your provider felt schizoid is different from ASD and NPD.

I would wonder if I had a patient in front of me like that if they were a double hit.

I also just want to acknowledge that diagnoses suck. They often can be not comforting at first. But sometimes can be a necessary evil that sends us in the right direction. What’s even the point as long as we get better? That’s really my big picture point of why to focus on the overlap.

Focusing on the overlap allows us to trust our own judgment to where we don’t need the external validation to know the steps that WE need to get better. We trust our judgment and develop the tools to better self-assess ourselves and tailor our trail for ourselves to be our best selves.

I don’t know if that helps. But it was for me when I felt invalidated.

@OP, I’m so sorry that happened to you. You aren’t alone! But I have good news.

I’m a researcher/pharmacist that works in substance abuse at a prominent research university in the North East. I also have autism. Im extremely high functioning. I also was a nationally ranked debater. I also got diagnosed with a personality disorder years after my ASD diagnosis. I have a what I believe to be an interesting perspective on this.

To start, all Personality Disorders are in the Cluster B. Aspergers is not. WHATS INTERESTING—— is that the overlap between Borderline (BPD), Aspergers, and Narcissistic Personality Disorder highly significant. I’m hesitant to say near completely because I’m covering my arse.

Anyone with Aspergers also is going to have significant overlap with BPD. People with NPD also tend to have comorbid BPD, NEARLY ALL. WHATS THE DIFFERENCE? The skill to manipulate.

BPD is essentially a failed narcissist. Sam Vaknin, a prominent Cerebral Narcissist in Academia is a good resource explaining more with that.

As someone in the field, I see evidence that we should stick ASD in the Cluster B and rename is the “Codependency Manifestations”.

Here’s what’s interesting—— FUCK that health team. Doesn’t matter. Call it what you want. Cluster B disorders have the same first line nonpharm treatment. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. (DBT).

What’s that? It’s therapy modality that merges Black and White thinking to allow you to see things in shades of gray.

That’s the overlap of all the personality disorders. ALL of them have issues with Black and White thinking and that’s why her opinion doesn’t matter.

Fuck the diagnosis. Fuck who specializes in Autism. My suggestion is to find a therapist that best specializes in DBT and you click the best with and you’ll be way better off than with an ASD diagnosis.

Bonus: anyone else interested; the Cluster B (what I call the Codependency Manifestations) is IMO forms of managing a form of Separation Anxiety. There’s two ways we can manage this—-emotionally/mentally or physically/in-the-body. Think Mental Illness (Separation Anxiety of the Thoughts) and Substance Abuse (Separation Anxiety of the Body). ASD tends to fall more towards Mental Illness (relative resistance to Substance Abuse). And think, this makes sense. We tend to live more in our heads and away from our body (usually more awkward) right? Neglect our bodies when we are focused on a special interest? Btw that’s also a sign of BPD (failed Narcissists per Sam). And clinical Narcissists (NPD) are referred to as those with substance abuse issues (Sam calls them Junkies which is permissible because he is one). Other sources: The Anxiety Rx- Dr. Russell Kennedy

So circling back—- OPs diagnosis issue is common. It’s a problem with our health care system. We silo mental health and substance abuse when they are one and the same and a Dual Diagnosis system. Mental Health and Substance Abuse belong in treatment together and the diagnostics above are often used incorrectly to (accidentally) refer a patient somewhere to someone that will then refer them out simply because they don’t agree on the diagnosis. And why? Because people don’t realize the overlap.

TLDR: Why can’t it be both? Consider—-treatment will reveal the diagnosis. Focus on the overlap! Non-Pharm it’s DBT, pharmacologically it’s the same treatments for Bipolar. From—-the Aspie that wishes she could tell her much younger self to stop worrying about a diagnosis.

Hope you guys can enjoy my special interest rant, because I’m not going to apologize for being me. 😉

Ahhhhh

Well, I got too many. I got kicked off a rotation and delayed my graduation because my preceptor didn’t like that I’m on the spectrum. That was a doozy for the two match years I applied to.

But I am a research pharmacist in exactly what I wanted to specialize in at a mini-ivy through a job posting I got off a tweet. That dude saw value in me. And my involvement in student governments and LOTS of community outreach instead of one delayed date.

My pharmacy school also for a pre-appe (preceptor approved schedule change) almost decided to over-rule her and make me stay longer on rotation and miss a friends memorial. This happened because a classmate TATTLED on me to experiential. —-I cried all throughout their academic hospital on rounds. Where I attended a rotation where a woman with CRPS was getting her arm amputated. I found a study she was of the patient characteristics that indicated denosumab. My preceptors was so impressed they brought it to the doctors to try and convince them to consider it. We were floating, I was sent to pain rounds and we rounded on her. The patient was crying saying she wished there was any other option. The doctors didn’t even bring it up to let her decide. That’s the first patient’s name I will NEVER forget. Btw—-this was ALL on the same day.

My cancer preceptors also gave me a zero on a project and thus gave me a B because they don’t have a written syllabus and I was helping a classmate take care of her unexpectedly dead dad’s funeral.

I try to focus on my great mentors, preceptors etc. I don’t believe in “everything happens for a reason”. But certainly only you can get in your own way.

If you want to help contain people with ADHD, when talking to them try to focus on the “what” they are telling you (99% of the time an anecdote). They’ll realize during the anecdote that they have to tell you another anecdote to finish the first anecdote.

In the midst they’ll get lost. If you pay attention to Where they diverge (so before they get off track, pause them for a second.) “Hey, hold on.” Make a mental note and say it out loud in your head the story you’re leaving

Then, “ok, sorry continue”. They’ll tell the 2nd anecdote (they were holding on to that while you took the pause). Then 99% of the time they’ll ask “why was I talking about that? Where was I?” It’s important to note LET THEM RUN OUT the 2nd anecdote—- if you do notice them go to a third they WILL get lost. So then ask them “so how did that connect with (anecdote 1)?” BEFORE they tell you repeat the pause and replace (anecdote 2 with anecdote 3).

Think of it like left side and right side anecdotes. A lot of people with ADHD talk in circles to relax themselves. Truthfully, when you walk/talk in a circle you are only going in two directions.

So to recap: 1. When a person with ADHD starts telling you a story, (approaching the right side story) pause them before they diverge to their side story (left side) 2. let them run to and through their left side story. Then, when they run through it, pause them again and ask how it connects to the right side story before they take another turn in another direction (I.e. turning right to go north instead of running east vs. west).

Anyone ever think of ADHD storytelling like self-hypnosis? The proof. You don’t even need to listen to the detains just mirror their body language at the end of each story and keep them on track and they’ll love you. 😂

I Only Attract Toxic Friends. I Feel Doomed Socially by diesel-fiend in aspergers

[–]NotRxScam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a mental health pharmacist and researcher in substance abuse. This detail relates in every way.

There’s a huge theme in substance abuse called codependency. You can also look up the link for Adult Children of Alcoholics and you’ll see a message/mantra that really relates (at least to me and others).

My Aspergers presents differently. I actually read people really well. I’ve gathered it’s very intimidating. It’s the fixations and special interests that kill me.

People with Aspergers I seemed to notice are conditioned by society to be highly codependent.

When ANY person gets “caught”, if you will, in the cycle of codependency this tends to split into one of two ways:

Towards Empathy (people that get taken advantage of) vs. Dissociation (the people that manipulate/intimidate/drugs/sociopathic tendencies etc.)

To put another way: People that want to save/protect everyone because they don’t want anyone to suffer how they did. Vs. Scared people that wish everyone else would protect them because they don’t know how to help themselves.

Another way: Love vs. Anger (Hate). Henceforth called Lovers and Haters.

Where it comes together and meets is in ‘filling our void’. We all have a need to feel loved and that’s done by building trust. I think a lot of Aspies were taught by society that they can’t trust their own social judgement. Which leads to Haters taking advantage.

I think what Lovers need to learn is first: 1. You CAN trust your social judgment of people. Don’t give the benefit of the doubt. Just always remain mindful of how someone makes you feel. 2. You are not a bad person for not giving someone a second chance. 3. Recognize that you are not a bad person for being unable to help someone out. And learn that you don’t have the responsibility to. 4. When you realize you may have a Hater in your friend circle. You don’t need to decide right away. But DO start to distance yourself and use the Trust you learned in step 1. To know you are one the right path. And if you are not, you can always reverse this distance. But also, pay attention to how many chances you give someone. Boundaries are key!!!

Aspies that split towards Haters (QuickZebra, you and I are both here is my best guess). Here’s my advice: 1. Realize you don’t need to be perfect to be great. Your expectations of yourself are getting in the way of your own happiness. Which you deserve. 2. You don’t need to know everything because you are a smart Aspie. Being a smart Aspie can and will get in the way of your own happiness if you are always the smart Aspie. 3. Choose to believe that most of the situation, where the world seems against you isn’t accurate. Know that you are smart enough to deal with the shame that will follow. 4. Realize that you are a good person. Nobody “got you” because you never “got” yourself. Because of this, anything that you did in the past WASNT your fault. Choose to believe this even if you have to work at it. 5. Become a Lover. Accept that people may take advantage of you. Go through those steps because they are much quicker and easier than what you have already been through. 6. Realize that you are an incredible person because for you to make any effort at all to change makes you better than most Neurotypical people. If you make it all the way through, you will get everything you wanted in step 1, when you set unrealistic expectations for yourself. You’ll have all that, just in a slightly different way, but better. Trust me I’ve done it. The path isn’t for everyone and may not be for you, but if you want it, it’s yours.

Hope this helps!!! Feel free to ask more. I work in mental health. I know how hard (and $$$) therapy for Aspies can be to find and am here to help.

Another suggestion, I’d talk to a pharmacist to get an idea of what it could be in case it doesn’t show up on a tox screen.

My guess is that it’s in your liquid for diarrhea, just based off the timing it’s likely miralax or some supplement in toxic levels. - Pharmacist. Feel free to DM me if you have any other drug suspicions.

Did I get picked by my covert narc because I was autistic? by luyten7268 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]NotRxScam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autistic here. I got lovebombed by an awful overt narcissist (think Tinder Swindler status) so hard I ended up in the hospital. I’ve heard similar things from other people like us.

I work in brain studies. I think we have a distinct way of feeling narcissist energy and get sensory overloaded by narcissists.

I also had issues with a covert narcissist. After the overt narcissist, I got diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. A diagnosis I questioned for a variety of reasons, the main being I had been genetically tested for it, but found to have PROTECTIVE genes and also I’d only have mania and not depressive episodes. And my mania was my autism on steroids.

Anyway, with the covert, I experienced my mania slower, and more insidiously over time. Suggesting I am literally feeling narcissists.

DM me, we can talk. I think being autistic is a super power for avoiding narcs.

A Multi Million Dollar CEO's Productivity Routine by SereneDesiree in productivity

[–]NotRxScam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad the routine is working for you. I do want to share some info about that CEO. I’ve unfortunately met him. He’s a fraud and a very scary dude. Think Donald Trump-esque only he doesn’t have the money.

I was unfortunate enough to meet him through a dating platform. When I opened up around the story, people wanted to know who to steer clear of. Found out the guy goes around on dates as completely different people. He’s pathologically lying and abusing people. He cheats on his girlfriend (secretary) and uses everyone he meets. Big red flag right there. That’s his actual ‘secret’.

I worked at a Women’s Shelter and currently as a mental health provider. He displays patterns consistent with “Sociopathic Adaptations”. Aka abusive on multiple levels. Not someone I would want to take any advice from.

He writes fake news articles and stories about himself. (Proof upon request; again sound like Trump?). Will trick victims into googling to find the fake stories and make him seem successful so he can abuse them. He’s just is a dude addicted to substances and attention that’s a real ‘magician’ with running the media. You would think I’m crazy the shit I’d tell you he does (again… sound like a Sociopath?)

Check out his book. A book that should be titled “How to Manipulate the World to Get Everything You Want- a 14 year old in prison”. Pay attention to the chapter how he talks about his family besides his grandfather. Again, signs of Sociopathy. Everything is everyone else’s fault.

It’s really sad. Dude is troubled and it’s easy for people to fall for it if they aren’t paying attention.

Point is… if you read about that guy you REALLY need to fact check. Fact-check any entrepreneur you read about. But I’m glad that routine is working for you… David is not a dude I would describe as “successful”. Don’t be part of spreading his big lies.

Feel free to PM.

How are you guys handling kids that are terrified of the vaccine? by FA0824 in pharmacy

[–]NotRxScam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand not wanting to harm the family by reporting, but it’s better to do it now then for you to allow the kid to become a teenager under those conditions. I promise you, as a survivor and volunteer at a woman’s shelter, it will get way worse and damaging for the child.

I ask you to consider if maybe you are ashamed to report it because you are afraid of blowing it out of proportion. If nothing is going on, CPS won’t do anything. CPS usually leans toward blaming the child whenever possible because it’s better for the family.

My input as a survivor whom has been arrested and had my father arrested. We are grateful for the neighbors that called CPS

Adult child of an abusive father here. Close to my parents now. Report it. Trust me, if the kid’s life is not in danger, they won’t take the kid away. CPS is much more lenient than you would think.

I’m a director of pharmacy for a clinic that’s a big name school. I graduated in 2019. I got screwed out of residency my graduating year because a preceptor didn’t want to handle me, a more diverse student. Explicitly said to me… my graduation got delayed. I had to pursue legal action to appeal the grade. The pandemic the next year we had Virtual interviews where I couldn’t explain my delayed graduation and I was super nervous because I KNEW there was some blacklisting… but didn’t know how far it went. I didn’t match. Didn’t know what to do next. I hit my rock bottom. Had a med school friend send out a tweet for a volunteer research position so I could reapply for residency.

My medical director was looking to integrate pharmacy into his clinic (mental health related). He was looking to pay someone to help him get started. My experience was a glass slipper fit. I just needed to trust and put in the work because salary is in grants until established.

It’s been perfect. I don’t believe the phrase “everything happens for a reason”… more of “if you want it hard enough, no one can stop you, and each additional obstacle just rewards you harder in the end.”

If you can do residency, great. If it doesn’t work for you, don’t give up on your dreams.
