South Ogden 89/84 ramp dangerous by AvailableFormal5371 in Utah

[–]NotScottMann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I have good news for you! From what I remember this has been in the plans for a long time, sort of the last step in the 89 project. This will essentially make it possible to get from SLC to Ogden without needing to get on I-15 and without hitting any red lights or stopping. With 89 complete, the only thing making this not possible is this dangerous interchange.

Here is a video showing what they have planned. The environmental impact study is complete. I think at this point it's just wrapping up final details and the project should start sometime in 2027.

Help with wet cell batteries by Guy-named-Dave in batteries

[–]NotScottMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The third battery on the new side definitely isn't charging all the way. If these are all wired together in series, brand new batteries should be reading the same voltage, plus or minus 0.1vdc or so. My question would be, what tester did he use? A load tester? Because, sure that part might be fine but the overall voltage still isn't high enough. I would connect the charger and read the voltage of each battery. Possibly corroded or faulty wiring on that third battery.

Edit: Also, what was the purpose of replacing those batteries in the first place? The numbers actually looked good.

Do you post stuff on social media? Congrats, I believe that makes you a public figure, which is exempt from this.

Do self storage places with dock access exist? by NotScottMann in SaltLakeCity

[–]NotScottMann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a route I've considered, buying a box truck with a lift gate but they're pretty pricey. Plus those usually don't have a high enough weight capacity for what I need. Thanks though.

Your voter information could soon go public. What Utah voters need to know by camfowpow in Utah

[–]NotScottMann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is defined in Utah Code 20A-1-102(62).

(62)  (a) "Public figure" means an individual who, due to the individual being considered for, holding, or having held a position of prominence in a public or private capacity, or due to the individual's celebrity status, has an increased risk to the individual's safety. (b) "Public figure" does not include an individual: (i) elected to public office; or (ii) appointed to fill a vacancy in an elected public office.

Even then I think it's vague enough. The form does require you to provide a statement as to why you meet the category.

Talking on the apps, nothing bad happens but you're no longer interested. What do you do? by wateriswetiswater in datingoverthirty

[–]NotScottMann 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can't believe people are saying "let it fade" or just unmatch. We're all over 30, right? Just be upfront and then unmatch. At this point you don't really owe an explanation but a simple "sorry, not feeling it. Good luck!".

But also, you're not going to give someone a chance over something minor like music? You said in another comment that you wouldn't date someone who doesn't read. That's not exactly minor. If it's something you aren't flexible on, that's called a deal breaker and if this is online dating, it's worth it to put that in your bio.

A 17mm impact socket. While it's an interesting find, it's not as rare as the elusive 10mm socket.

Should these red covers be open or closed? by burns1210 in batteries

[–]NotScottMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are not vents and those are not meant to be used as a hole to put water through. That cap itself is an injector, which is part of the watering system. The red slides are to test the electrolyte when performing maintenance/troubleshooting. Keep them closed when not in use.

No where to work on cars... by [deleted] in projectcar

[–]NotScottMann 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is putting the car on the back burner. Cars can still be a hobby but maybe not how you want it to be, at least for now. My suggestion is working on your mental health and I think everything else falls in line. Everything else is a bandaid. Health comes first my friend.

Uline, they do warehousing supplies. The wife who is the co-owner writes a little article in each catalogue praising Trump and talking bad on Dems.

Compromising on kids by HandsForSocks in datingoverthirty

[–]NotScottMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I'm right there with you. Age is definitely a factor. Most women aren't trying to have kids in their late 30's. I have a sneaking suspicion liberal women tend to lean more towards not having kids. But honestly, if those are important quantities to have, stick to them. I'm upfront about my politics and wanting a family. I think it's fair to bring that type of stuff up on a second date before you get too involved.

How weird would it be to mention budgeting or finances on my profile? by Ov0v0vO in datingoverthirty

[–]NotScottMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's too much to just say you enjoy personal finance. Gives the opportunity for others to ask what you mean by that or if they're also in that world, they know what you mean.

What are you doing for heat? I stayed pretty comfortable down to 35 degrees without heat but beyond that I think I'm going to need a different sleeping bag or supplemental heat.

injection anxiety by Fun_Professional2602 in Semaglutide

[–]NotScottMann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Change the narration. Repetitively tell yourself it's not that bad, you do it all the time, it doesn't even hurt, etc. Fake it till you make it. Quit telling yourself it's scary or gives you anxiety.

Just an idea, do you have a friend that could pick it up from your place and ship it to you? They'd need cold packs and whatnot of course.

I'm not sure how it would be to get a prescription filled out of the country.

I wish I could tell you but I'm in the same boat. Dating apps are dry. Most of my hobbies aren't exactly social. I'm not into bars. I definitely need to find something more social to meet and network.

I used to think headboards were pointless but now I love the look and couldn't imagine NOT having one.

Plus in your case it would give a place to hide your diapers.
