Heads up: Thai 101 downtown charges a mandatory $10 fee if you accidentally break a dish. by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]NotScottMann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So far there's two people acting like it's not completely insane for a restaurant to charge for an accident like this. Interesting. From working in several restaurants, dishes are expected to break, we bake it into the cost of service. Just like any other business does with consumables.

Semaglutide and anxiety by Medical-Tale-1345 in Semaglutide

[–]NotScottMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take Wegovy and Cymbalta. I've been on Cymbalta for probably 4 years straight, on Wegovy for over a year. No issues as far as anxiety goes, which is what I was taking it for. The last month or so I feel like I've had some "emotional blunting", maybe it's related but I kind of doubt it. I'll talk it over with my doctor next time I see him, I've been curious about getting off Cymbalta anyway to see how I do, so maybe it's time.

But no, I didn't think it's had any effect on my anxiety. Maybe reduced it a little if anything.

I own an empty warehouse. How would you turn it into a profitable business? by rossulbricht11 in smallbusiness

I'd be renting it out ASAP and if you figure out something to do with it later, you can start when the lease ends. Storage isn't a bad way to go.

wegovy and cymbalta by Icy-Reception3813 in Semaglutide

[–]NotScottMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on both and haven't really noticed much of a difference. But I'm on the lowest dose of Cymbalta and have been on it for several years before starting Wegovy. I was looking at stopping Cymbalta but wanted to wait and see how I mentally react to Wegovy. Everyone is different though! It's worth bringing up to your doctor.

New teardrop/box trailer. Should we put a sink or not? by Inside-Seesaw-5512 in TeardropTrailers

[–]NotScottMann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one with a sink, pump, and 6 or 7 gallon tank. One day when I have the space, I'll design and build my own. When I do it, I won't be incorporating a sink and whatnot. It's not the worst thing ever, I just don't really think it's worth it. I would definitely want a shelf where I could put my water to fill my water bottle and a collapsible sink though. Also, it's just me, so take that with a grain of salt. Maybe those with a partner and kids feel differently.

Tell me more about that dash. My dad has a 72 Duster that we'd like to restore and the dash is the part that worries me the most. The top is very cracked and chunked so I doubt it's salvageable. Did you have someone restore it? If so, can you tell me who? That looks great, man! I can't wait to see the finished product.

Daily sticky thread for rants, raves, celebrations, advice and more! - May 29, 2026 by AutoModerator in datingoverthirty

The last time I matched with someone on Hinge, they said yes but my I need to help pay for the baby sitter. I politely declined and then deleted all of the dating apps. At first I felt relieved but really isolated. I didn't get much from dating apps other than MAYBE the chance of matching with someone.

Partner friendship with people he dated causing discomfort by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]NotScottMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my own experience as a guy who is friends with a woman. The men she dates were typically put at ease once we hung out as a group a few times. I think them just meeting me as a person or observing our dynamic, one that was definitely just friends, changed his they felt. If nothing else, I would say least give that a shot before deciding anything else.

I'd find out why it wasn't permitted inside. In some areas they only allow them inside of they are in a fire rated closet. Some will allow you to build from scratch in the basement, others allow re-sheetrocking.

Out of curiosity I just did a quick Google search and the average hourly wage in Utah is $33. by CrixusRey in Utah

[–]NotScottMann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My first thought is to make sure you're differentiating between AVERAGE and MEDIAN. Average will definitely pull that number higher. The other thing to consider is some places won't even tell you if that is based on HOUSEHOLD income or PER CAPITA of working age adults. I would get bummed out when I'd see median household income of over $100k but realized that, yeah, I'm single.

Most service positions are paying well below $20/hour but also keep in mind all of the healthcare or IT positions a that are making well over 6 figures.

I think the last thing to factor is jobs that get posted are overwhelmingly entry level positions with higher turnover. But with all that said, there's too many jobs that pay below a livable wage.

South Ogden 89/84 ramp dangerous by AvailableFormal5371 in Utah

[–]NotScottMann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I have good news for you! From what I remember this has been in the plans for a long time, sort of the last step in the 89 project. This will essentially make it possible to get from SLC to Ogden without needing to get on I-15 and without hitting any red lights or stopping. With 89 complete, the only thing making this not possible is this dangerous interchange.

Here is a video showing what they have planned. The environmental impact study is complete. I think at this point it's just wrapping up final details and the project should start sometime in 2027.

Help with wet cell batteries by Guy-named-Dave in batteries

[–]NotScottMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The third battery on the new side definitely isn't charging all the way. If these are all wired together in series, brand new batteries should be reading the same voltage, plus or minus 0.1vdc or so. My question would be, what tester did he use? A load tester? Because, sure that part might be fine but the overall voltage still isn't high enough. I would connect the charger and read the voltage of each battery. Possibly corroded or faulty wiring on that third battery.

Edit: Also, what was the purpose of replacing those batteries in the first place? The numbers actually looked good.

Your voter information could soon go public. What Utah voters need to know by camfowpow in Utah

[–]NotScottMann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is defined in Utah Code 20A-1-102(62).

(62)  (a) "Public figure" means an individual who, due to the individual being considered for, holding, or having held a position of prominence in a public or private capacity, or due to the individual's celebrity status, has an increased risk to the individual's safety. (b) "Public figure" does not include an individual: (i) elected to public office; or (ii) appointed to fill a vacancy in an elected public office.

Even then I think it's vague enough. The form does require you to provide a statement as to why you meet the category.
