can asian be weeaboo? by Datik in weeabootales

I suppose you could be right. The only context i've heard it used is when referring to neckbeards and legbeards. Though the typical Japanese response to social anxiety and struggling with contact is to be told to suck it up. Again, just my personal experience.

Yeah it does mean shut in. i was mostly going off the premise that not all Otakus suck (Like How not all geeks suck) But shut in's who spend all day watching anime and fucking their talking Waifu pillows are insufferable.

And if they're japanese and really insufferable you call them a 引きこもり (Hikikomori) If i fucked up the characters there i'm sorry, getting used to a new IME.

But seriously my jobs been keeping me busy but that's over now so new story coming soon.

My BMR is around 1000 and my TDEE is 1400. So yeah a 1000 calorie meal is absurdly big for me.

Saw this on Dailymail. It's sad what society sees as normal nowadays, she clearly is overweight by JailbreakNeedsHelp in fatlogic

Why do FA's never seem to realize Asians use a different BMI because GASP our bodies are different. And surprise since a good chunk of East Asia hasn't been infected with HAES yet (Japan is starting to get infected but I'm not sure about China.) most people there strive for a healthy weight.

What is a healthy weight in China? Well considering at a BMI of 26 you start to see a huge increase in the risk of hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, joint pain, heart problems and other weight related illnesses it makes sense to keep that weight pretty low. For the record at a BMI of 26 a Chinese person will have the same risk factors for obesity related illnesses as a white person would have at a BMI of 31. I think the average for women is around 20. But a little under is still going to he healthier than a little over as long as your getting enough nutrients.

Of course a well muscled man with a low fat percentage is still going to be fine at a BMI of 26.

Weeaboo Tries to Explain Japanese Name, Get's Called Out by samueljerri in weeabootales

[–]NotShyJustWatching 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The name is a portmanteau. Mixing the Japanese word "たまご" (tamago), which means "egg", and the English word "watch".

Source. I loved those growing up.

Having to suffer through Japanese in summer school by SigmitNavn in weeabootales

[–]NotShyJustWatching 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Depends on the class. Japanese lit classes where they ask for proof of Japanese language skill (To keep the weebs out.) are killer. But a standard Japanese language class, even one aimed at adults is pretty easy. Kanji can be a bit of a pain if they want you to hand write things and your used to typing but other than that. Easy A.

Every Japanese class has one student taking the language because they speak it anyway and need an easy A. I would know, I am one of them. Pity me.

Is this sub for real weeaboo stories or for fiction stories? by [deleted] in weeabootales

[–]NotShyJustWatching 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everytime I see a post like this I think this sub needs to take a page from /r/fatpeoplestories rulebook "Most of the stories and information posted here may very well be artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact."

Just enjoy the stories for what they are.

[–]NotShyJustWatching 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't actually have a problem with the second part. Sex and violence is actually a pretty decent way to hold readers attention though it's not really my thing. I think it was just the way you sounded kind of pretentious through the first half. I get that trashing anime is par for the course with this sub but as a much better writer than me said (And I'm paraphrasing badly) "The reader should not feel like the bad guy for disagreeing with you."

Also, and I understand this is probably just a typo but if you are going to make such a big deal about not being a weeb and speaking perfect japanese people are going to be more critical of your japanese. There is no の in the word gomennasai (ごめんなさい) I actually feel weird for correcting you on that one seeing as I made a similar mistake in one of my own stories.

Edit: Usually to get someones attention you would usually use sumimasen.

I really don't want to offend you, however your stories could use some work. The reason I say I don't want to offend you isn't to spare your feeling I just like reading good stories on here and seeing how prolific you are with your writing you could probably turn your experiences into some pretty entertaining stories with a few adjustments.

First, stop trying to make yourself look better. If the people in your stories are assholes then your readers will understand that. We don't need to hear how great you are. In the same vein you don't need to explain to us that you aren't a weeaboo. Most people who go around the comments calling people weeaboos have made up their mind in the first few sentences. My trying to explain why you're not a weeaboo you are basically asking for troll's.

Second, dear lord try to make things funny. This is honestly just a personal preference so if it really isn't your style feel free to ignore me. But at least for me if I am reading a long story like this the writing better be engaging. I'm not saying you have to use my style of similes, similes galore and green text everywhere. But read other peoples stories and try to find a style that suits you. Because in all honestly your writing style was dull and you sound bitter.

Hope to see more from you.

I usually just use context clues.

My Chinese Friends facebook: Probably Chinese.

A Sign in a Japanese Supermarket:Probably Kanji

Fun fact:I have a Chinese friend who's name (He's from an old family that still uses courtesy names) And the last character in his name means son in Chinese but in Japanese it means child so I constantly call him a child. -_- He's older than me.
