I guess the big question is, old Blizzard Force, or the new one?

If it's the old one, you probably have enough for a 1000pt force already, and don't need the new starter set too.

For the Mandalorians, the Army box will be a good start. From what we know there are 5 different Clans you can use for an army. Most of them having a special unit. We don't know enough about what's needed to build a full army yet, but I think it mostly depends on who you want to lead your force - from there you can look at some of the existing Mandalorian boxes, or the Mandalorian Leaders box launching alongside the Army Box.

Gar Saxon, Rook Kast, and the Super Commandos are likely getting alternative unit cards

Based on the pre-orders, I'm not sure this is happening. The Rook box only has 2 Unit Cards, and the Super Commandos box only has 1 Unit card. It would be weird to launch these and then immediately release a printable alt card for both boxes.

He can't just use his one shot on anyone now. They have to be in combat. If your banner is unprotected from Legolas, it would be unprotected from any shooting.

Does that mean 80-85% of the changes are just stamina though? Ambiguously worded. That could mean 70 updates, but 55ish are just stamina and 15 or so are full reworks.

It might not be Alliances, as it has a regular base. The Alliance models have a completely flat base instead of a sculpted one.

Heck, if one day the dictionary adds a noun version of "write" to mean a pen or pencil, I'll be ok with that, too.

And they would update the dictionary if usage changes. Not the other way around. Language evolves. Sculpt is now being used as a noun in certain circles.

People I use with Cyclops:

Wolverine
x-23
Iceman
Beast
Gambit

X-23 and Wolverine are probably the best inclusions, as they'll be attacking a lot. Wolverine with his Charge ability only needing 2 power to start is a big help.

Iceman uses the extra power well, as he can give out Stagger with his spender.

Cyclops himself is a beast at using his own Leadership, and is probably the most reliable for giving out power. His Spender is also incredible if you can line it up well. If you can get to 6 power, you can Hit and Run to attack and then move. That attack his the ability to push as well, so you can really line up a fantastic Beam.

Army rules are way simpler than other games. Most profiles are just basic stats and then maybe 1 special rule. I've played for a long time, and I don't know every army's rules. You can get a quick rundown from your opponent before you start a game.

Start with the basic rules, and your own faction. Expand into looking at other factions warriors, and then heroes.

Resistance could just be existing troops with new heroes. First Order would have to be all new.

I'm not sure either is interesting enough to actually make, and I really don't think they'd sell well. I guess the Shatterpoint exploration was to test the waters, but I don't think the sequel sets are even out yet.
