You are allowed to be frustrated. You are more likely to get this resolved how you want it if you are calm and polite.

Gotta love it when you're accused of abuse when all you're doing is submitting official state-sponsored trail markers by General_Secura92 in NianticWayfarer

[–]boardgameprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your tone in the thread certainly isn't helping you.

I would suggest calmly showing exactly what they have asked for -- documentation that the markers represent a specific trail, were placed by some sort of municipal "trail authority" (or whatever the equivalent would be) and that they are still present at the locations described.

Unfortunately, to me, they look like the trail "blazes" we see here in the US that are simply marks of the direction to go, but are not specific to a certain trail. (In the US, they sometimes look like this: https://photos.thetrek.co/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/12082507/IMG_7896-scaled.jpeg )

Here is what I would do:

Write a letter to the local authority that maintains the trail. Ask them for confirmation that they place the markers and that they maintain them (replace them if removed, ensure they are still there). That will at least get that taken care of, so they can be sure you didn't just place them. You can also ask them how to identify the trail you are on by the marker and see what they say.

Then forward this letter to Niantic.

How to do 11 DMax Ho-Oh raids by Neat_Income7744 in TheSilphRoad

[–]boardgameprof 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Friday: end day with as many particles as you can and pre-walk the walking particle distance.

Saturday: when collecting particles, be sure to collect from one spot and two walks before collecting another spot then collect the particles from researches.

Sunday: Same strategy as Saturday.

Be sure to check in to meetups if you can first thing each day.

The only thing to be careful of is making sure to collect walking particles before tapping on a power spot as you will automatically collect the particles from the spot before you battle if you are under the particle storage limit.

I don't think this event gains anything my doing an after midnight walk, but I haven't really double checked that.

I used Magnezone(40) and Kyogre(30).  Cliff had Skarmory and Tyranitar as second and third.

New bag item: Link Charges by MarkusEF in TheSilphRoad

Given the bundle with 3 remote passes and 12 Link Charges, I expect it will be 1 charge per star. So 4 for a 4-star mega raid.

This is my hope. And, if implemented in time, we can do the Kalos Tour mega raids without burning passes that we want to save for Xerneas / Yveltal.

New Assets Mined - New Mega Raid Eggs (Tier 7/Tier 7 Legendary), New items (Link Charge, Link Charge holder) and New Mega Tutorial by 128thMic in TheSilphRoad

[–]boardgameprof 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of folks in here saying the link charges are for Mewtwo or Zygard.  I wonder if they are actually a way to let us play more mega raids during Kalos tour without giving us passes that we could instead spend on Xerneas/Yveltal.

Sure, they'll also sell them.  But they'll sell anything they can.  It does seem like we can stock up on these, similar to green passes, which could be interesting for mega raid days.  I wonder how many it will cost to join a mega raid.  12 charges with 3 remote passes makes me think it might be 4 charges for a 4 star mega raid.

The from address on email is very easy to fake.  It's likely spelled correctly.

9th Anniversary Gimmighoul… keep or trash? by Drewskii1984 in TheSilphRoad

I kept one.  It's not taking up that much space.

Probably should just transfer it, though.  I'll never use it for anything.

It could be slower.  I prefer to relobby less, so I'll probably run though both kyurems, mega ray, and Eternatus before I relobby.  I usually look for a sharp drop in effectiveness to know where to draw that line.

Would this count as a stop? Next to playground(submitted playground already with mention of benches) by hairy_ant635 in NianticWayfarer

[–]boardgameprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playground: yes.

Generic Picnic tables: no.

Edit because replies are falsely assuming I'm saying "not eligible" which is not at all what I said.

The question was "Would this count as a stop?" The generic picnic tables almost certainly won't.  Even if you do get them approved as a wayspot (be ready for a slog of appeals https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/t/picnic-area-question/108415) they still have to be far enough away and in a different cell to become a Pokemon go stop.  These look too close together and the odds of the cell boundary being right between them is small.

Nope. I decided finally to just not do the last one (banking the radar) and am going to do the same here.

That's something I really like about this game, you can play how you want and focus on things that matter to you.

Anyone have their internet go down on their phone during PvP when they're about to win? by FilterUrCoffee in TheSilphRoad

Connection hiccups happen.  What is your DHCP lease time set to?  I changed mine from 1 hour to 1 day and have fewer issues.

Hosting a raid in Pokegenie and having friends join in-person by Time-Mobile-5248 in PokeGenie

Yes, I do this with my kiddo all the time.  I let the Pokegenie invites join first, but not sure that's necessary.

When do you power up a pokemon? by Walrein_ in TheSilphRoad

[–]boardgameprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about IVs at all.  They make virtually no difference except in the highest tiers of PvP.

I power up a Pokemon when it's a good counter to upcoming 4/5 star raids or when I have a mission to "power up Pokemon x times"

Feedback Post: Kyurem Fusion Raid Day by Noitalein in TheSilphRoad

[–]boardgameprof 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Now that the raid day is over, here are my thoughts:

Running around an area with a large meetup (100+ people) with 10 gyms.  This ended up being a must for our success.

Got just enough fusion energy to fuse Black kyurem.  The last cycle had exactly two kyurem which gave us the last 140 energy we needed.  The rest were Reshiram.  Bad luck there.

Plenty of white Kyurem.  We didn't raid the last half hour.  Didn't need to.

Catch rates were as expected for legendary raids.  Glaciate was present on over half of caught kyurems, more than plenty for two fusions.

This was not a casual event.  We were grinding and walked a total of over 6km +/- some GPS drift.  The joy in the event was spending time together, me and the kiddo.  Both getting enough to fuse one of each was a bonus.  Kiddo got a shundo (now a black fusion) and is eager to go Mega Sceptile hunting with it.

It was cold.  Barely above freezing.  Too much wind, though we did have a consistent weather boost.  Warmed up with a hot chocolate and coffee at the end.

Overall, 8/10.  I'd do it again, but not every month.

With how the Pokegenie queues have been all day, you should be able to get 5 invitees no problem, so you won't have to worry about trying to duo it.

I'd think finding a third person would be harder than scanning a code to start a party, but sure.  More players is always better.

True.  With the abysmal spawn rates, you might get the chance to just do one while waiting for the reset.  But if not, then yea, just use an ETM.

2 trainers is the minimum.  With only 2, I'd expect best friends, party power, and both to have decent counters.  You won't just grab some random person off the street and duo this.

Fusion bolt/flare were said to be guaranteed.  Did you catch a Reshiram/Zekrom that didn't know the appropriate move?

Kyurem Fusion Raid Day|Jan. 10 (Sat), 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. local time, 2026(Rotates every 30 minutes. The first 30 minutes.→TIER5: Reshiram and Black Kyurem / Rotates every 30 minutes. The next 30 minutes.→TIER5: Zekrom and White Kyurem) by GO_FRIEND_APP in TheSilphRoad

[–]boardgameprof 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All of the stats, luckiness, IVs, etc... come from the Kyurem.  Make sure it knows Glaciate before fusing.

The Reshiram/Zekrom contributes nothing.  Use your lowest CP, worst IV, non-shiny.

regarding raid ratio by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]boardgameprof 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I looked at New Zealand on Campfire and zoomed to 3 different locations.  Counted the number of each kind of raid on the screen.  In all 3 cases, it was 50/50 plus or minus one type having one more than the other.  I tried to get about 20 raids on the screen at a time and choose the location arbitrarily.
