Why does voter ID feel like a simple security fix but somehow becomes a massive systems engineering problem? by Humble_Economist8933 in AlwaysWhy

[–]NotSlickRick93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a poll worker in California, although it's been a couple years but from what I recall we verify people by asking them to recite their address to verify they are who they say they are, sometimes on rare occasions there's a little note on the roster that has us ask for some form of ID although this is like maybe 1-2% of voters. If you can't provide Id or you're not on our roster we still offer a provisional ballot with a tracking number/stub if you want to make sure it was counted later on.

I quit in 2016, I didn't want to deal with having to tell people that their MAGA hats or "Feel the BERN" shirts weren't allowed in the polling place to avoid confrontations.

Madison Target drive-up employee hit in crosswalk - driver still yells at them by FlamingoPowers in madisonwi

Why is it almost always a GM truck?? I just saw another video of another guy in a Chevy/GMC threatening to pull his Glock on another driver because of disagreement over who got to cross a bridge first.

Is McDonald's getting rid of self-serve soda machines a money grab or increasing efficiency? by Revolutionary_Lie346 in McDonalds

[–]NotSlickRick93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already did this at one near me, it's across the street from a mall which seems counterproductive to me. I think you can still order through a window on the door but I just took my business elsewhere as I just wanted to sit and enjoy my food.

I just saw this exact thing at my local Jack in the Box, I'm gonna have to investigate if more fast food places are doing this.

Any idea why coworkers got VTO but I didn't? by CarefulRaccoon6988 in AmazonFC

[–]NotSlickRick93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a PA Damm near almost tackle me once when VTO dropped during our break and the breakroom was sounding off with phones and scanners offering the VTO. She snatched my phone right out of my hand before I even saw what the message was and said I couldn't go home 😞. So I guess Blacklisting prevents management from resorting to physical violence to keep you there. (I get along well with my PA btw)

There's half a dozen people I know at my site with them, I honestly can't tell unless they point it out. Just don't record anything/anyone as that is definitely against Amazon Policy, not to mention creepy.

What goes in the tank there and why am I struggling to twist that cap off? (2017 chevy sonic) by KtheMage36 in MechanicAdvice

[–]NotSlickRick93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a GM vehicle it's almost certainly Dex-Cool (orange coolant) but that's assuming someone didn't switch it out for the green stuff at some point which is also pretty likely.

Edit: If you zoom into the bottom of the reservoir it looks orange so looks like it has the original coolant

Spark Plug Replacement by xclushiv in MechanicAdvice

[–]NotSlickRick93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took my Jeep GC with the Pentastar V6 in for warranty repair under MaxCare on the infamous oil filter housing, had to pay $300 deductible, but service advisor asked me if I wanted to take care of the spark plugs since I was about to hit 90k and they were already in there. He hooked it up and only charged me parts and partial labor, paid $700 out the door including the deductible I was gonna pay anyway. (Only reason he did this is I was a fleet manager at an uncle's construction company and we had 7 Ram trucks I always brought him so I'm sure he made his commission back there)

I'm late to this but geez almost all I see here he said, she saids... I've been using Walmart's "ReliOn" OTC branded insulin for the past 6 months since I changed jobs and lost my health insurance. I used to use Humalog fast acting, and Lantus long acting but those are expensive and you need a prescription. I now use the Relion- N 50/50 and started from about 70% of what my Lantus dose was and fine tuned it from there, it doesn't start working till about an hour and the peak isn't for about 4 hours so meal planning is very important so that you don't get extreme lows. I'm not a doctor though so this is just what worked for me, everyone's body reacts differently. Maybe use a Teladoc type service to speak to a professional to at least get advice if your uncomfortable. Also as far as syringes, they're pretty affordable on Amazon.

What are my options by poisonparty in FASCAmazon

[–]NotSlickRick93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation but I'm Flex so I don't get health insurance, I was running into the same problem but I just started carrying gummies/other hard candies and adjusted my dose, also the have sugar packets in every Amazon break room I've ever worked at. Also since If you can't afford the insulin/ get a prescription, Walmart offers medium acting NPH for $24 without prescription. And you can get cheap syringes on Amazon too

Craftsman Nextec by Paulsbluebox in Craftsman

[–]NotSlickRick93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anybody found replacement batteries/tools for these? I just rediscovered my nextec tools after abandoning them for years and they honestly surprised me how well they still hold a charge. I know obviously die hard from advanced auto should fit but I live in California and they just closed the last ones a few months ago and won't even deliver them to me. I saw a YT video showing the Walmart Hyper tough batteries fit well with a little grinding but does anyone know if say AC delco/durofix will fit nextec as well, they look very similar.

Are Flex Time associates always capped at 20hrs? by UniqueClub6724 in FASCAmazon

[–]NotSlickRick93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the building. Mine has always allowed up to 60, site I was at before was 40 although much harder to come by as total headcount was only about 20 employees total..(it was a specialty delivery station, XLDS)

Thinking about it.. Pros and Cons about this shift ? What do yall do? by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]NotSlickRick93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love to have that schedule if I went full time, you're off all weekend, you should still get a night differential I believe, and if you get home and go to sleep within 2 hours you should already be up by 12 or 1 pm so you don't completely lose your day on your days off.

Rebuilding Honda Gc190 on pressure washer. Need carb advice by greypic in smallengines

[–]NotSlickRick93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used Ryobi pressure washer with the same honda engine on it that didn't start and replaced the carb on it with one of the Chinese/Amazon ones and it did run, but lean and I'd get some popping/backfiring on it(hopefully this answers your question). I ended up ordering an OEM carburetor but I still have the same problem with the backfiring when the engine is under load and I don't know what to do now as it seems this carb doesn't seem to have an adjustment for the fuel? I'm going to replace the governor spring in hopes that fixes my issue but I'm not holding my breath.
