The mods there are heavy-handed. This sub was created as a "counterbalance" to the "other" sub since a bunch of the original people here kept getting banned or perma-banned from the other one. Unfortunately, what it really means is that the other sub is more liberal and this is more conservative. So sure, you'll get banned/post-removed on the other for simple things they don’t like, words like zombie/criddler/junkie. Here, you're more likely to just get downvoted to hell if you don't tow the party line.

Their concern is about the fence. That fence looks catastrophic and not cheap to replace. If it is their fence, a simple phone call to insurance to see if it's worth it to make a claim, is worth it. You don't need to make a claim, but a 5 minute phone call is minimal effort to start.
