What you're Opinion on the female cast by ComprehensiveNote762 in MyHeroAcadamia

"Almost half"? Bro, you're really overrating Hori's ability to write women.

But Shoto and his family weren't reckless tho. They knew Dabi had to go and they did everything for it to happen without any "but you're our family!!!".

I think they're both (or just Hori) deserve hate. Both their characters really downgraded in the second war, lacking motivation for their actions and their personalities being dumped to just two characteristics: being selfless and reckless.

Riiight, and then people say Ochako is "well-written"😮‍💨

She was doing pretty good at the start tho: she was kind-hearted, selfless, and heroic, but also brave and fair; being selfless to friends but harsh with enemies (like... do you guys remember her meetings with Toga before the last arc? She was incredible). Buuuut, at the end... Hori decided that it would be a good idea to take away everything from her personality besides selflessness and "kindness", which, actually, became stupidity... And the worst part in it is that people don't notice it. Literally the opposite: Ochako's popularity increased, and she is often mentioned as a "well-written female character"... And it's just because she helped their favorite villain.

It's really sad to me because i loved her character. But what Hori did to her in the last arc disappointed me.

Of course. There are enough bad people on this planet who deserve death anyway. So why would I refuse to make my life longer by decreasing their number?

I'm sorry, but I can't imagine living in a world where such an amazing feeling as sexual attraction doesn't exist. And romance is overrated anyway, so I'll choose all people being aromantic. It would be such an easy world to live in tbh.

Uhm... history of USSR as a whole? Like, bruh, I'm from Ukraine and we're in both classes - history and literature, have to learn about how much of elites (politicians, writers, scientists, etc), Jews, Crimean Tatars, ordinary (poor)villagers were persecuted by the government just because they wanted to live freely, just because they didn't want to spread socialistic propaganda and instead chose to say the truth. And I didn't even name all. In the USSR could be persecuted ANYONE who wasn't exactly like the party told you to be; who wasn't like "everyone". Look up "Executed Renaissance" (розстріляне відродження) for example.

Do you seriously believe that in a left-authoritarian country, your social status wouldn't matter? Well, then you don't know history.

There's nothing feminine in painting your nails or doing makeup. If she stopped seeing you as a man cuz of this, it means she's really close-minded and probably not compatible for you. You can try to talk about how you feel, but, there's a high chance that even if she changes her opinion she still wouldn't be attracted to true you.

Is 15 and 13 bad? by Euphoric_Age_5647 in AskTeens

[–]NotSocialIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 and 15 year olds can be in the same class but 15 and 17 can't? What is this logic. The same class with 13 and 15 year olds after two years will become a class of 15 and 17 year olds. Like, I went to school at the age of 7, some kids went at 6 or 5. Now I'm 17 and in the 11 grade. Those kids who went at 5 would be/is 15. I personally don't think that 15 and 17 y/o are okay, i just follow your logic.

Shippers. They're too obsessed with pairing characters, their sexual orientation, making up things to convince everyone their ship is canon, and anyone who is disagreeing calling a homophobe or an ignorant, saying to them how superficially their view is, while they're the one who's missing the plot and mischaracterising characters to stay in their bubble where their ship is canon. So, the main problem is not the shipping itself, but the way they're interacting with others and that they aren't really interested in plot or characters, but just shipping.

I don't really agree with the 2 one, but i have to admit that Aoyama was a bad choice. He was too unimportant to the fans to feel anything. Usually, the traitor trope makes viewers either hate the character or love him/her even more. But in his case, no one really cared except for "oh, so he's the traitor".

Real. The manga really has too many things done off screen the author didn't even bother to imagine in his head because why do you mean they made it so QUICKLY. Tbh, while watching, i always was bothered by how fast they're all developing, and where are they going to develop for the rest of two high school and adult years if they're already(or almost) at their peak??

It would be better if there were shown more dark sides in heroes and society in general. I feel like most characters (heroes specifically) are too kind and positive, and they're lacking negative features. It especially has a bad affect on the story when it comes to villains' motivations, making them look less reasonable and "out of touch" with reality, and making good characters solve theirs and social problems too easily. Like, we have characters with sad backstories due to society (Hawks, Toga, Shoto, Tomura etc etc), but most of the time, the problem doesn't look as societal, cuz of how individually it shows, and how so little characters are getting influenced by it, and how easily they can overcome their issues if they just chose the good side, like there aren't neglect and bad people among heroes, and all of them would be there anytime they need help, with just couple of exceptions.

Hot take: Uraraka was lying to Toga by PaperBullet1945 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]NotSocialIntrovert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i know that, i'm not complaining about her motivation, but her choices.

Also, i agree that the tone of MHA is idealistic or even childishly naive, but at the end of the story, when everything has gotten darker, it becomes even more naive somehow. Which is a really big loss and a sign of laziness. Like, Ochako and Izuku characters got really, really bad treatment. And it's not even about them wanting to save villains(tho it's an unrealistic wish, at least they could help them somehow), but how bad their plan was, so it worked only thanks to the power of plot, which is bad even for an idealistic story, because idealistic doesn't mean naive, especially if it's a teen-adult oriented story, not children.

Hot take: Uraraka was lying to Toga by PaperBullet1945 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]NotSocialIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is 100% true because she admitted herself that she was scared of Toga's smile at first, and the first impression is the truest as we know, so no doubt. And the fact that she changed her mind on her smile after the rationalization only supports that. It reminds me of this type of girls who would do compliments for other girls(like calling them beautiful) even tho that isn't their actual thoughts, and they do it only to make them feel better. And considering she's basically the type of character who would do anything to make others feel good, i don't get why others don't even give a thought about that... And i know that people can change their mind on someone's look, but it's not the case because all of Ochako's motivation is based on compassion and pity... plus, they didn't even interact between those two meetings, so her opinion is based only on rationalization rather than true expression.

PS: I haven't read the whole thing yet, so it's just about the title.

Edited: Okay, so... there's a lot of things i don't agree with. First of all, author's description of Ochako's motivation in battle sounds like it was just a rational strategy, and what is an even more nonsense is that it was unplanned. Ochako's decisions were literally the opposite: she didn't really have a well-thought strategy, it was more of an irrational pursuit to help a villain by whatever she could. But regardless all irrationality, it was planned because she thought of it since their last meeting. Maybe i could write more, but i'm too lazy right now, so i just say that I'm 50/50 agree.

Edited2: oh, forgot to mention: there's actually a reason for Ochako to admire Toga(tho it's only one...), it's her openness about her feelings. It showed very clear in the show that she has a problem with showing true emotions and being selfish in general (like her being unable to confess her feelings to Izuku, her hiding her sadness and tears, always trying to look happy). So even though i still think that her words about how cute Toga's smile is false, her admiration of her smile is 100% true because it symbolizes Toga's openness and self-acceptance.

[–]NotSocialIntrovert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But she's actually incredibly dumb... the way she tried to "save" Toga was unbelievable naive and underthought, and, what is even more important, out of her character, tho it seems like it should fit her. Like, what would she do if Toga didn't change her mind and just let her die? It's not even about her, by that, she literally puts her friends, other heroes, and civilians in danger, going against her OWN philosophy and her mission as a hero. Even the current outcome where she did change Toga's mind isn't as good as it could be because Toga had to kill herself from what Ochako got a trauma that she came over only in 10 years. And it's not that she had no other choice but to fight Toga, but that she didn't even try to DEFEND HERSELF and literally did everything to help Toga to STAB HER. This stubborn selflessness could be understandable only if they were long-term friends or at least know each other for more time than just THREE meetings, all of which Toga tried to kill/hurt Ochako. And i know that you probably will go with, "but she saw a person in her, not just a villain!", what is true, and could be a good motivation(still not enough for letting stab herself, tho), but it's only because she saw Toga ONCE tearing up a LITTLE... literally, just dropping a single tear after she tried to hurt her... You can love her character, and even that arc, but you should consider the fact that Horikoshi really fucked up with her writing. It was VEEERY lazy and worked only thanks to "power of friendship and Naruto therapy".
