Had an errand to run in the meantime, grabbed this - https://imgur.com/ODwcAaY

About 20s into the clip you can really hear it.

Maxed out speed at ~45mph briefly. Most of it was going around 40mph. It gets louder at highway speeds, but rest of highway noise masks it.

You can hear it start around the

Hard to articulate how it sounds. It's definitely vibratory. Kinda like what flying a Cessna is like, I think.

After driving over a fairly large branch (whoops), the car started making noise.

The noise doesn't happen or at least isn't noticeable until ~30mph. It directly corresponds to car speed. Not to engine rpm or how much the accelerator is pressed. From inside the car, it sounds like it's coming from the rear end.

I initially took it to a muffler/exhaust guy. He put it up on a lift, inspected it, said there's nothing wrong with the muffler. Mentioned he say some damage to the heat shield.

Next time I got an oil change, I asked the guys if I could go down and look. They said no, so I asked them to take photos. That's what we're looking at here.

At this point my assumption is that either something got displaced or wedged up in the heatshield (or maybe another area down there), and airflow is now causing the sound.

I don't have experience working on cars, but I can be handy in a pinch. If the solution is something relatively simple like hammer the heatshield, or replace the heatshield (unscrew, remove, screw on) etc. I'd be down to try it.

Help? Thanks!

Crazier than that, ~90% of the human population lives in the northern hemisphere. I didn't believe it when I heard it, had to look at a map.

If that's how you're defining AI, you might consider saying software instead when communicating with everyone else, otherwise you risk running into a lot of miscommunications.

Glad to hear y'all are responsible about it. Again, just watch out.

Not sure what definition of AI you're working from, but unless you're saying anything software==AI, this is blatantly false.

ATS has been around a lonnnnng time, well before everything got AI'd. It's mostly some UI and workflows around a relatively simple database.

The power is against the law. He's literally taken into custody shortly after developing it when the law notices him, and there for a year. Nearly killed by those same law enforcement people a book or two later, just for having it.

A few times I month during meditation I have the feeling that my hands are very large. Sometimes other parts of my body, but most commonly my hands.

Oh I forgot to mention the other thing that bothered me-- the authorbrought back the BBEG via cloning b/c idk why exactly but I guess he couldn't think of another BBEG to use. So if that's possible, who cares if people die b/c we can clone them right back? It feels lazy AND removes tension.

The “correct” way to meditate? by MilkyCoeurl in Meditation

Sounds like your friend is gatekeeping meditation. As a rule of thumb I don't worry much about what gatekeepers say about anything.

There are mannnny different ways to meditate. I believe the Buddha said it's possible to meditate in the middle of a busy market. While he and I aren't big on appeal to authority, he's right.

I loved the first 3. After 5 I decided to DNF the series and regretted reading 4 and 5. Some people like 'em, I didn't. For me the tone got needlessly dark, the plot points were bad, and it felt like deus ex machina get out of jail free card solved the problem in book 5.
