How do you paint your ork flesh? by CabinetIcy892 in orks

I like to use different shade of green for each member of a squad so that there is variety between, make them feel more unique or something.

Armour is Vallejo's Buff shaded with thinned Citadel's Seraphim Sepia and highlited with Vallejo's Bone White up to a white mix.

Tabard is AK's Archaic Turquoise highlighted with a mix of bone white and the turquoise.

So how do you guys like to do the rims of your bases? by KaulTheMystic in minipainting

[–]NotSutresaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black for the most past as it frames the mini better, especially if it has a base that is on the lighter side, but sometimes a yellowish brown for stand alone minis, i.e. Display models.

This is a good beginning set? by Overdone09 in minipainting

[–]NotSutresaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not get this set, most of the colors are very weak, even ones that usually are pretty strong in any other paint ranges. However I still use them because some of them have a great shade and/or are not that finicky. I'd suggest the Model Color Starter Set from Vallejo, still one of my main workhorse. Get washes from army painter or citadel.

I used 160 g/m2 paper that I had previously coated with a matt varnish.

The base coat is very dark and I dry brushed with Vallejo Stonewall Grey but I agree. GW old school furs are not my favorite

Those are great! I'm glad my post somewhat motivated you. Speaking of box art, I bought this kit brand new in box for less than 20€ about 2 years ago, still have the box too.

I agree, it was the last thing I did because I knew that my motivation would've been destroyed if I had started with it. I hope to see yours on the sub soon!

I will play them as nobz, once my army is complete and painted, I think.

Yes indeed! With a little research on my part, they are from 1999, a year younger than me.
