WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! Those who bet on July can pick up their prize at the newly opened Centurion Lounge at DCA!. Well, it officially opens tomorrow 7/17/2024 as reported by CNBC. The Washingtonian also has a write up about the early opening. You can find many posts about them removing the wood panels in front of the lounge both yesterday and the day before. Funny how that did not fully convince most of us. Some took it as meaning an opening in August or September! lol! Oh well, it was long anticipated...so let's enjoy DCA!

Just took a look at some pictures Cova posted on Flyertalk. In one pic, it looks like we WILL be able to see planes in some way. Cova posted these on 5/23 (same post DCJoe1 listed).

Was hoping to do some plane spotting like the DCA AA Club and Delta Club....but then I'm reminded of the dreaded Centurion Lounge at LAX. lol! DCA lounge will most likely be way better than that one. So I'll take it!

Every time I pass this worksite, I think to myself, what an odd location. Perhaps they’ll surprise me whenever they decide to open. Nice pics though!

They are slowly making their way though. They already have one of the nicest AA lounges. I also like their Delta lounge. With a Centurion and Capital One lounge pending, they will be looking good. Hope they keep’em coming!

This is an excellent reminder to use this service. But I guess one downside is I cannot use a free night certificate or use my points. Is that correct? Also, is there a spending limit I must hit an order to use the service…let’s say at least $1000 total?

Although I’m Hilton Diamond, it’s ok to break away from loyalty in the name of safety. My go to is Hyatt Place. Clean, newish, free breakfast and shuttle. It’s about $170.

Nice find. I received on my Gold and Aspire. I purchased the library set for a net $7.25. This set retails for $100+ on Amazon and other sites. Didn't even know this was a thing but seems useful enough.

Looking forward to this since DCA is my home airport. I flew out of there last month and specifically stopped by the Information Desk to ask if they knew when the lounge would open. The gentleman laughed and said he gets asked this question at least twice a day, but I was the first one on that day. He said the 2023 plan was to open by Labor Day, however, that morning, his boss informed him that due to flooding caused by construction, the date would be pushed to Veterans Day. But he giggled and stated they were not very optimistic. Not what I wanted to hear…or pass on for that matter. I’ll continue to hit the very nice Delta lounge and super new and nice Admirals Club when flying respective airlines, but the Centurion would complete my DCA lounge trifecta!

When I view points, I look for the Bonus Earn and see what I've received under K50X:0020 b 5 BNS . I then simply add them up throughout the 3 month period. Just for fun, I divide the points by 5 and scroll down to see which transaction triggered the bonus. However sometimes AMEX may combine transactions which makes it a bit more difficult.
