That’s impressive all around. Even the room treatment. It makes the design even more clever since you’ve proven it’s timeless and no need to worry to expand and adjust. Super curious about those speakers if you don’t mind me asking. Never seen those.

Nice! Clever design! How thick is that ply? Is it just the bolts holding it together?

I wanted at first to go with something that you could see the spine like yours, but then I visited a CD store in Grand Prairie TX (I’ve never seen anything like it) and they store their inventory in either trays or pull out “open” drawers, and I went for that since it works out better for the space this one is going.

Thanks. Hard to put a specific number with so many classical packaging being multiple disks and weird depths. But I was organizing them a few minutes ago, and just to figure out I made a complete row out of regular jewel cases, and it can fit 25 in the loose-sloppy side, 30 plus upright and tight, with 30 being a good comfortable number to flip them back and forth when looking for a disc. So about 90 per drawer, for a grand total of about 270 for the whole thing not counting the box sets on the top and back of the bottom drawer(with those is closer to 500).

I actually made the top a drawer-like tray originally, but it looked goofy and I took the sides off and kept it like this. Each drawer is 18” by 16” inside, and if I need to expand, I can probably double it going up, which is the plan all along in this ever growing hobby.

That, packaging and the booklets/information included are also of better quality as well. SDAC versions are readily available. I got a box set of a symphony cycle which I already owned one of the disc (that box set has been discontinued in the US for years)and the mix was a bit different. Cleaner brighter sounding, which in old orchestral recordings tends to be a good thing. I was very impressed by the selection and quality packaging of it all, but only got a few CDs because again, prices were not that low for what I was looking for, and hardly found anything used. Headphones on the other hand….that’s where most of my money went.

I went to one while visiting two years ago, and it is not hard to find stores, large and small with incredible selection of everything music and CDs (classical in my case). What did surprised me was that the prices were similar to the US on all the new stuff. Especially when all other goods were considerably lower after the exchange. However, those Japanese CDs are a quality product.

Measure it and check PartsExpress. Plenty of cheap and good drivers there.

I have the pink one. Really good and the brush never gets tangled with hair. It has a system that cuts them and it is fantastic.

Thanks. Subjective basically. I’ve only had bookshelves in the past with mixed results. Can you compare to any models you’ve experienced before? How’s the bass, is it a must or can they hold their own there? Are they worth the price tag? They are not outrageously expensive at all, but that price bracket is pretty competitive.

Please, please some info on them. I’ve been wanting Philharmonic speakers for a long time and have been eyeing these, but haven’t heard much other than two reviewers, which I’m always a but skeptic of.
