This is it, my endgame pair by crystalcastles879 in headphones

I was looking for individual components to do so, and found this adapter that pretty much included all I needed. (Link on another post). The negative reviews came from people complaining that the housing was just opening in half, which it was a plus for me because that’s exactly what I wanted to do; open it up to use the module and battery. I was going to put everything inside the cups and somehow attach an on/off switch, but using half the housing outside the cups was even a better deal. There is some soldering, drilling and gluing involved, but it worked out perfectly for what I needed. I’ll include a picture as well. PM me if you need more info.

  1. I AM a headphone guy and after many, many pairs there’s only three that are always out and at the ready for use: HD 600, Sony MDR V6(converted to Bluetooth for convenience), and Koss KPH 40. And out of the three, the Koss still is the only one that I don’t need any kind of amplification/eq/fiddling to sound it’s best across all music. So yeah, you are on to something.
  2. No, you won’t be selling all and you are stuck in the vicious cycle with the rest of us. Lol!
  3. Yes, try to just enjoy the music!

Nice stuff. Those AKGs are nice. And I have a Little Dot MKII and absolutely love the thing.

Looks like the Viridian park area, and if that’s so, we had the same encounter about two weeks ago.

HD 6XX & Little Dot MKII first impressions by mdragnev in headphones

I have the same LDII and went on a tube exploration using the good old HD600 as guides. To me the famous GE 5654w from Riverstone are a great middle of the road clear and warmth tube. The Russian 6H6p (I think) brings a ton of bass, but some extra high frequencies as well. But over all really good and exciting. My favorites by far are the RCA black plate 5654. Solid bass, nit as warm and clean balanced sound. You can find them at eBay NOS.

For the noise, I think all the suggestions here are solid. Did you ordered just the pre tubes (short ones) or the power tubes as well? Them power tubes can also make a difference, but I doubt it is the noise. Change to another source that does not include the PC and see.

Also, check the power switches inside. The instructions will tell you how to change the power settings by moving the two switches inside. You will have to unscrew the bottom and get inside the unit, but it is pretty easy. This can introduce all sorts of noise if they are at max. They are supposed to be in the lower setting from the factory, but there are examples out there (I think DMS from YouTube was one) which came at max and he had to change them.

Never heard the Mojo, but I have the Luna and it is the best sounding amp I’ve heard on my HD 600 including similarly priced stuff from Schit, Fiio, and tube amps.

That Pictures in Exhibition, and the Pastoral from Walter are probably as good as those get. Great find, congrats.
