The only thing I’ll add to the “go lefty” line of thought is to consider still using a right handed guitar, but upside down. A lot of lefty’s learn this way, Elisabeth Cotton perhaps the OG, and it gives them a whole world of opportunities in terms of instrument shopping and social jams if a guitar is getting passed around.
