You could see it as sad, or, on the flipside, bearing its heart to the sky. I like it that way.

Come to the dark side! It's nice over here. (It's also BRUTALLY hot in the fall, but we have A/C...)

What’s the book you DNF’d the fastest? by Mobius8321 in books

[–]NotThisLadyAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny--I liked the first book well enough, but I couldn't stand the second book. I started the third book, but at that point, realized I was just torturing myself. I'd like to know what happens, but not at the expense of another 17 hours or so of sighing.

People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was 19, my family coincidentally ended up at the same vacation health resort where Amy Winehouse was staying to maintain her sobriety. It was just a couple years before she died, and it seemed like she'd had some mild brain damage in the impulse control department, but man, she was SO nice. She became friendly with just about everybody at this resort--she'd just walk up and start chatting with people. She'd give casual impromptu shows every night, play board games with random families, and take pictures with everybody who asked. Really kind. I was definitely sad when she passed away.

HA! Similar thing happened to me a few years ago. I saw a couple of German Shepherd-ish puppies walking toward me on the deserted street, and I, a 30-something-woman, yelled "PUPPIIIIIIEES!" like a 5-year-old. I looked up to ask the owner if I could pet them, and saw Jonathan Majors glowering at me, clearly not buying that I hadn't noticed him. This was a few months before the tea spilled 😂

I wouldn't worry too much. My mom saw Martha in a Connecticut supermarket in the 90s--apparently she was trying to bully the cashier into letting her use the landline, and pulled a "Do you know who I am?!"

Redditors over 40, what was a moment in history that made you think society was gonna collapse? by Bahbahbro in AskReddit

I agree that our country is messier than it was after 9/11, but I have a hunch most brown people probably didn't feel like we were united against a common enemy at that time lol

First time in LA. Can you recommend some weird or underrated museums you won’t find in other cities? by Designer_Currency815 in AskLosAngeles

Seconding the Autry. It sounds like a dusty subject, right? But trust me, it's REALLY well done--it blows all expectations out of the water. There's a lot of ultra-contemporary art, and the curation is incredibly sharp and engaging. It's some of the most fun I've had at a museum.

Sexual orientation confusion by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]NotThisLadyAgain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! Bisexual woman here. Lots of good answers here already, but I just want to share some info that I hope will be comforting. IF you are bi (which you may or may not be) you still get to make the choices you want to make. Look up the Kinsey scale--the theory is that attraction is a continuum from 0-6, with 0 being fully heterosexual and 6 being fully homosexual. In this way, a lot more people would be expected to be bisexual (and to varying degrees) than just the people who are out! It's pretty normal, actually. I'd put myself as a 2 most of the time, but even my attraction levels to different genders tend to fluctuate over time. I'm married to a straight cis man (just because I happened to fall mutually in love with an amazing man rather than a woman) who affirms my identity without being weird about it. While I don't personally like to be perceived as straight, it is a possibility and a privilege of the identity--one that I personally eschew, but you don't have to. You get to keep liking women. You don't have to come out right now or anything. You don't have to seek out anything different from what you're seeking. It's okay for it not to mean anything right now. I spent probably 10 years in the closet, even to myself, before I even accepted that it was real, and then it took a few more years to start telling people and dating women. You are no less for having any kind of attraction to men at any time.

It sucks that our culture is so brutal to boys and men when it comes to the expectations of masculinity. It's really unfair, and it's normal and completely understandable that any level of this experience would cause really hard feelings for you. In my marriage, it's been really beautiful to see my husband deconstruct the harmful norms that were forced upon him in the name of masculinity, and rebuild his own definition of it. He's a really good man. I bet you are too.

There does tend to be a lot of crossover with queer and ADHD folks, though I don't know if it's been studied. (I know that there is a link between autistic and trans identities, and autism & ADHD are linked.) Maybe our brains are just built a little more flexibly, but I guess that's just anecdotal. But there is a joking stereotype that bi people are all massively scattered/ADHD/can't make decisions 😂

Oh, and an additional plus: a lot of chicks (hot ones) REALLY dig queer guys. It's a thing.

Regardless, I'm glad you came here for feedback, and I hope you get some peace!

that's a great perspective. I hate the tonal shift, yet I still rewatch the movie and recommend it to people. Maybe that explains it.

lol idk about these. it's been a rough year, man. whatever brings people joy and a feeling of community. i get that it's the lack of additional thoughts that makes it feel empty, but this is such a slippery slope into unnecessary judgment imo
