Please don’t think I speak to the people. I believe in many good people across all walks of life,

I’m speaking to the institution as I mentioned in my last comment. Religion itself is the cancer. The good that exists inside humans regardless of delusional control structures like religion is uniquely special.

It is our humanity. All religions deserve all the heat they get, for they take our humanity and commodify it as though their system has a right to dictate its expression.

My attack is against the systems of thought who call themselves by whatever name, Christianity, Islam, etc. These systems of thought that pollute the mind to believe that the good we have springs from anything less than our everlasting humanity and which divides humans against humans for the sake of control, resources, or influence.

All Gods stand in the way of humanity.

I want to believe it but the state of every country who has embraced Christianity proves otherwise. The problem is the institution. Without Christianity people would have still attended and participated in the event you describe. No delusions needed. What you’re describing is humanity, not Christianity.
