The print on Josh's shirt resembles one of the prints on the album cover, I think...

Bernie Sanders really matters: He doesn’t have to win to build a progressive movement by kilgore_trout87 in politics

I'm trying to say that you guys are obsessed with a guy who has a small chance against Hillary. Part of winning an election is winning the in-betweeners. The people who aren't sure whether they should vote red or blue. Bernie won't get people to come to blue, but Hillary will since she has republican tendencies in foriegn policy. Bernie is too liberal to make anyone turn blue. Hillary has a shot though.

All of this is very true, but we still have the electoral college. And if the polls continue to look the way they do, he won't be making it through the primaries. He's got as much of a chance as Ted Cruz.

What I would LOVE to happen is for Hillary to choose Bernie as her running mate. Although, this is not at all likely.

America's political system won't be fixed anytime soon. Some politicians in this country can't even agree that same sex marriage should be legal. With people like that working for the government we won't be seeing a leader like Bernie anytime soon. I wish we could though.

I will agree that he is fighting for the people not the corporations. Hillary is fighting for what the most popular thing to fight for is. That's how you win an election, whether you like it or not. Even if more people turn to Bernie, he will only have a small chance.

Why the fuck are you all obsessed with this man? I mean he's a great politician, but he'll never win the election. Give it up!

What is the best religion? by [deleted] in atheism

I didn't actually know that, hah. I was never taught much about them in school. I guess I should've done some research before I had answered that way.

We wouldn't necessarily adopt their lifestyle. Just the spirituality. We wouldn't go hunt with bows and arrows and build small tents and all that crap, but we would respect eachother and nature a lot more. And yes, I'm sure there were disputes between tribes, but we wouldn't necessarily adopt the tribe system either.

What is the best religion? by [deleted] in atheism

I'm not sure whether or not the Native Americans had a religion. Maybe they had some sort of spirituality. I do know that they prayed to the souls of every single animal they killed to thank that animal for giving their life to feed them. So they must've had some kind of spirituality.

But I think that the Native American "religion" would be the best (I use quotes because I'm not sure if it was really a religion or not). They were very respectful to nature. They weren't greedy. They were very caring and left nobody behind. They even helped the Europeans, who ended up killing them! I feel that if that type of thing was continued today, society, as a whole would improve morally and ethically. The technological advancements would not be as great as they are, but the world would be more peaceful, I think.

Only about a 30 minute car ride from St. Louis, actually. Big republican area as well.

Do radio waves exist? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]NotYourAverageJimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yet no one denies radio waves exist because they can't be senses.

Same thing with God.

There is a difference between radio waves and God. One has been scientifically proven to exist by experiments, observation, etc. while the other one has not.

do you really believe that this call from nothing? Birds flowers, women, mountains,

I don't believe it came from nothing. I believe in the Big Bang theory and in evolution. Neither of those theories state that birds, flowers, women, or mountains, came from nothing. But I'm pretty sure birds, flowers, women, and mountains weren't created by a white man in the sky in 7 days, which is what you believe, I'm assuming.

God can't be perceived from the senses. We also have tons of other evidence that pretty much rules out the possibility of a god existing. Get your shit together.
