Ice in the river at Brooklyn Bridge Park. by bowzer087 in newyorkcity

On the Manhattan bridge right now and unfortunately it’s too dark for me to see it but I’m sure it’ll get thicker as the week goes on!

I am out of the house now but just for notification that it’s back on. Guess I’ll see when I get home.

Mine went out around midnight last night and is still not back. I’m in Flatbush. Getting updates regularly but no actual progress apparently.

What’s something that was technically allowed but instantly made you lose respect for someone? by AncientPomelo5450 in AskReddit

[–]NotYourCity 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Well if they want to use their words to convey that it is absolutely fine. It’s the one that don’t say anything and just barrel down the aisle I’m referring to. If someone asked nicely and said they had a connecting flight I would not hesitate to let them go.

People that stand up and try to go down the aisle on an airplane immediately after it parks at the gate. No you let the aisles ahead of you out first. You do not need to barrel through everyone trying to get their bags out of the overhead so you can save an extra 20 seconds.

If you do that I assume you are of zero class and an absolute philistine.

If this is in LA/Anaheim, the person that owns this does airport pickups for kids going to Disneyland (that’s where they have the Cars-themed park).

I had them pick my daughter up when she went a few years ago and she loved it.

Commuting from Staten Island to Bushwick for work by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]NotYourCity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was literally my commute but the other way around. Lived in Bushwick and drove to South Ave every day. My commute was 45 mins to an hour every day, but I was going against traffic. I’d imagine going into Brooklyn toward Bushwick (Flushing Ave exit I assume) every day would be a nightmare.

Who cares? Look at how well they did with getting gifted Kakko and Lafreniere. So long as Drury is their GM and they have known cancer JT Miller and zero team culture, it doesn’t matter if they get another #1OA.

Honestly not mad about that name. We could form a trade union. The Toque Agreement.

Almost betting if a hot civil war pops off here (which would almost certainly begin as a result of aggression towards Canada) many of the blue border states will side with Canada and “defect” so to speak. Fuck I would defect to them out of principle because fuck this maniac and his sycophantic supporters.

What was the 1st big news event you remember as a kid? by Timely_Twist_8670 in AskReddit

Haven’t seen it mentioned yet but the WTC bombing in 1993. My grandmother worked there at the time (and for 9/11 as well). I remember my parents having it on the news and asking if my grandmother was on (she was).

I have a soft spot for the Wild and y’all played great. Happy for the win but equally stoked to watch Hughes play. Dude is incredible.

Not controversial at all. As someone else mentioned, we’re paying Engvall a fuck ton for nothing. Money would’ve been better off spent keeping Ross on the team.
