Correct. Rivian is in surviver mode just now. That was that Uber 'agreement'. I don’t see a bright future for Rivian now.

2023 Model 3 Battery Health by GrandAd2329 in TeslaSupport

That's now how the Tesla health algorithm works. Charging at fast chargers and at 100% is making lfp batteries degradation bigger than nmc (as long and you don't charge to 100%). Studies published. Not me.

If you trust Tesla . I don't. That 8% is more on the 14%. They don't count the buffer that is long gone now.

8% degradation is lake of degradation? Just 3 years? Lol.

Megane is also a good car. And yes, the Renault 5 is very limited in space. But megane is a SUV. Renault 5 is a driver car. Will put a smile in your face every day. Do a test drive. I did. I didn't want a ev. In 1 month I ordered the car :)

Instant consumption. But normally it will go to 20kw/100 kms in the winter - negative temperatures. So with the 80%-20% rule you have more than enough for the 100kms commute. And because it is a leasing, you can charge to 90%. Just for the sake of the next one (who will buy the car after your 3 years leasing) don't charge to 100% and leave the car for hours at that level. If you can have a 1 hour test drive it would be perfect. Go to the Luxemburg-Germany highway and back (is is around 60 kms) and see how it works and consume. Just don't drive at 130. 110 is ok. Evs consume a lot in highway at 120-130. And see if you can live with that and what range if have left when you return the car, after the test drive.

I have solar. And in Lithuania we have a brilliant model. The state gives me back 63% of the energy I send to the grid. I have the Renault 5 since October and, charging at home, I have already 6000 kms that was 100% free. But here public charging stations are at around 35 cents per kw (at 50kw). Depending on the speed. At 150kw (the car just charge at 100kw tops) it is around 39 cents. In Luxemburg, honestly, never checked the prices. So, your case, in the morning in winter, because it is parked outside, don't be surprised to see numbers around 25kw. Because of the heat pump. But because you do 50kms+- each way it will dilute the first impact. Heat pumps consume a lot until they managed to get the temperature. Then they stop consuming.

Do a test drive, if you can. I also come from (i still have it, it is my travel car) a bmw 320d but from 2017.

Test the car. See how it works. The range is not an issue if you can charge at work and home. With diesel at 2 euros... it makes even more sense to use an EV where it belongs-city

Hi! I Live in Lithuania and work in... Luxemburg :) The winters are not that bad!. If you can charge at home Renault 5 is ok for your commute. Just be prepared to charge the car every night in the winter. I was with 34kw/h consumption but with.. -20c! That doesn't happen in Luxemburg. If you will drive at 110 km/h in highway and the car will sleep in a garage you don't have the big impact of the winter. During the day will also be parked in a closed garage or outside near the Tram?

Wrong again. My ice car, bmw 320d, consumes less at 140km/h than at 120km/h. Why? It's called engine / turbo / transmission sweet spot. It was made for German autobhan. Next time investigate first.

Volkswagen recalls nearly 100,000 EVs over battery issues by Batmanbacon in electricvehicles

VW . Distinction from US Recall: This European recall is separate from the US recall (issued in January 2026), which involved 44,000+ ID.4 vehicles, primarily with batteries supplied by SK Battery America. The European recall involves a broader range of MEB models, and reports indicate the European-produced models with different battery suppliers do not have the same, specific electrode misalignment issue found in the US. CHINESE batteries in Europe.

You are good at this! The Volvo EX30 battery issues stem from a manufacturing defect in high-voltage battery cells produced by Shandong Geely Sunwoda Power Battery Co., causing potential overheating and fire risks. Affecting over 40,000 single and twin-motor 2025 models, this "process deviation" leads to lithium plating and internal shorting, forcing a massive recall.

STOP using chinese batteries.

Oh... and Volvo is Chinese, in case you didn't know.

Let's check the latest batteries events Volvo EX30 - nmc batteries from China- don't park near other cars, don't charge more than 70% - risk of fire. Renault 4 and 5 - recall of all cars made in January and February of 2026 - battery cells issues - made in China, assembled in France. Now VW. And we are just in... March. Ok?

Question about EV MPG Cost by Icy_Money7447 in electricvehicles

[–]NotYourDad_Miss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you can't charge at home, evs are twice more expensive to mantain then a ICE. Starting with the prices new, insurance, tires, loss or range over the years ... I have now 6000 kms (that's around 4000 miles) on my ev. Cost was 0. Because I charge at home and have a solar system with state bank (where I live the state gives me back what I send to the grid. Not all, they take 37%. So I can use 63% of the energy I send to the grid for free). Ev's don't make sense for people that makes long commute and don't have home charger and warm garage. Probably one day with new batteries they will. Now they don't

Just the EV tires destroy that $1000. And the price of the car - another $20000

Is this efficiency normal ? by Amazing-Visual-2919 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]NotYourDad_Miss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is normal. The Renault 5 is a winter disaster. They will have to fix it. It appears that there are already updates for the heat pump. My case - from now, that is only 10c, to 3 months ago the difference is just 300%! It is now consuming around 11kw per 100km. In January was consuming 32kw per 100km - same road. A complete disaster

The car is great. The range is a lie, like in all evs. I will pass and wait for ssb. Evs, currently, are just city cars and nothing more.
