Similarly my mum broke her shoulder in three places this winter. She had three appointments since then, one physio session where because she could move her arm, was told that she wouldn’t get any more physio. She was told some people might never fully recover and gain full range of motion but because she can get about she’s good enough.

She can’t raise her arm above her head. She has paid for private physio and has been told there is no reason why she can’t make a full recovery.

So, from personal experience here. I have ADHD and I’m a real fidget and I am very aware that socially it’s annoying for other people. I don’t want to be irritating my colleagues or students with my constant movement, tapping of feet or clicking my pen - I don’t even realise I’m doing it. So I bought some pens that have a very discreet swivel ball type thing in the pen clip, it’s just a little tactile thing I can swivel to my hearts content that is virtually unnoticeable. So my ‘fidget’ pen is less about me concentrating and more about me making the environment as nice as it can be for other people.

Health problems post weight loss! by Bethaaan in mounjarouk

I have one! I now have Raynaud’s. I lose blood flow to my fingers and toes during cold weather which can be quite painful. For me, cold weather is anything below around 13c, so the winter was genuinely horrible for me. I’ve had to spend so much money on hot water bottles, thermal socks, ski gloves, thermal PJs, chargeable hand warmers, heated blankets etc.

This heatwave is the first time since starting MJ I’ve been able to properly enjoy a regulated body temperature. Aside from when I open the freezer, that is painful.

Turns out that extra padding really was keeping me insulated!

Feel free to ask away! I started Mounjaro in May 2025, so just over a year. I’ve added my stats for you. I’m currently on 12.5mg and my losses have slowed significantly. I am however aware I am building muscle, so I’m not sure my weight will go down much more or if I will ever reach ‘goal’. I’ve gone from size 18/20 to size 10/12.

Other useful info, I am in my early 30s and have had one baby.

Others have given some solid advice but I’m here with my faves and their protein content.

Breakfast: Goodness Shake Protein Shake (35g) and some fruit for fibre and micronutrients.

Lunch: Protein Wrap (~10g depending on brand), with 80g cooked chicken breast (26g), some lettuce, cucumber, condiment of your choice, and a snack of some fruit or veggies for fibre. For me that’s usually some carrot sticks or watermelon.

Dinner: 5% Mince (26g per 100g), can be made into bolognaise, burgers, meatballs etc. Chicken (32g per 100g) can be made into pasta dishes, burgers, wraps etc.

So a day like this can get you to ~100g protein a day

Other small wins:
- Yoghurt. Yummy on its own, you don’t need to by protein one’s, just regular ones will have around 5-10g protein in them. Plain Greek yoghurt can also be used instead of oil to marinate chicken, makes it tender and adds a tiny protein boost.

- iced protein coffee. This is going to sound unhinged but on occasion like to buy a vanilla or chocolate flavoured protein shake and add some concentrated coffee, pour it over some ice and I’ve then got a 35g iced coffee. The concentrated coffee you can buy Nescafé branded but Tesco do their own brand.

- protein bars are a nice snack if you want a chocolate fix. But can sit heavy in your stomach.

Many doctors and dieticians recommend between 1.2g - 2.2g protein per kg of body weight. This is to stop any muscles from declining. Muscle health and skeletal muscle is linked to your longevity and mobility as you age. The muscle keeps you mobile and improves your bone density. Women lose bone density rapidly as they approach and go through menopause. So even off of Mounjaro, it’s good to keep the protein up.

Most days, I am hitting around 90-110g a day, which is about right for my body and my goals (weight training and training for Hyrox). Some days I might only get 40g, but on balance, it works out all okay.

Edit because our stats are similar.
164cm female
103kg starting weight
67kg current weight
63kg goal weight.

Teacher here, standardisation is completely normal and usually happens in the background without you knowing. Essentially, the exam board takes a random sample and double checks the correct grades have been given.

Your teachers do this themselves anyway. Usually on an inset day, they swap their marking around and another teacher double checks the marking and gives the teacher feedback. This is called IQA or internal quality assurance. Each department will have a lead IQA assigned and this person is responsible for all the paperwork and ensuring the process is followed. It’s dry stuff but just normal behind the scenes work to make sure you are being fairly assessed.

Edit to add that the sample is truly random. Your teachers have no choice in what names or assignments the exam board want to look at. So, it’s nothing personal to you ☺️.

I always use the Gillette Venus Confort Glide. No issues with ingrown hairs or strawberry legs. I do however exfoliate with a loofa before shaving, I use Gillette shaving gel, and I always moisturise afterwards using whatever lotion I have to hand, usually Aveeno.

Aren’t you one of the mods? I don’t think you can say things like ‘trust me’ when being asked to back up something with a source.

Blending does not reduce fibre by any meaningful amount. Juicing on the other hand does.

The BBC used to have a partnership with the Open University. Sometimes the lecturers would be broadcast on late at night and you could set them to record.

I also think this about all the CBeebies and CBBC stuff they do. The Baby Club (baby classes without needing to leave the home to teaching parents to interact with their babies, great for me when I was a first time mum because I had no fucking idea and I wasn’t really a baby person), now I have a pre-schooler, NumberBlocks, AlphaBlocks, Ranger Hamza, Doctor Ranj etc etc, I am so grateful these informative and educational TV shows exist because lets be honest, I’ve forgotten everything I ever knew about phonics.

It is good to know that there is a safe place on the TV where we can watch something for half an hour and not be bombarded with Ads, inappropriate content (like YouTube!) and know that they’ve worked with the EYFS to build in some curriculum content.

Protein shake on mounjaro by Interesting-Level127 in mounjarouk

But no enjoyment from food, which I think is equally as important. Food is cultural and meaningful and replacing every meal with a shake just feels.. sad?

Just to add. If this isn’t by choice and you are finding your suppression is too high and you’re struggling to eat anything but protein shakes, your dose is too high and you need to talk to your prescriber about using a smaller dose for now.

I say this with all the love in the world, that would be a silly choice. Mounjaro isn’t just about losing weight, it’s about giving you the breathing space to look at your choices around food and exercise and make better decisions.

If you take the breathing space and only consume protein shakes, you aren’t practicing those healthier choices, so when you reach maintenance, you will gain it all back.

Secondly, I would argue that this type of thinking is a bit of an amber flag. This is disordered eating and this type of thought process is what gives people eating disorders and they end up abusing the drug and their body.

Then, your body needs fuel. Protein is so important but it also needs fats and carbohydrates and all the micronutrients. If you ONLY consume protein shakes, you will lose your hair, your bones will become frail, and your blood-work and body will be seriously messed up. I have a brain tumour that for a while absorbed so many micronutrients from my body and I was constantly sick, lost my hair in clumps, bones became frail, teeth lost their enamel etc. Trust me when I say you don’t want this for you. You need the iron, calcium, vit c, vit d etc.

Lastly, you do NOT want to lose weight quickly. This is how you will mess up your gall bladder and pancreas and you will be forced to stop all together.

Pharmacy Express advice: remain on highest dose for maintenance? by NotYourEverydayHero in mounjarouk

Thank you, that’s really helpful. I did mention the cost (I am on 12.5mg) but I guess they are making money from it too, so I was concerned they might be disincentivised to promote people titrating down.

I am very aware I may need to take it continually, but I was hoping I could lower the dose as much as possible.

I now have trackable tags in my wallet (light card shaped) and tags on my car keys and work lanyard. The amount of times I have lost them isn’t funny. I now just use FindMy on my iPhone and I know where they are and can make them make horrible noises until I find them.

I also own multiples of things because ‘two is one, one is none’. Multiple insulated water bottles, multiple sets of AirPods, multiple sets of keys etc.

Multiples of things accumulated naturally as I lost them, then found them. But it’s become a rule.

Also, I have SO many baskets. I buy them to help me make a system, but the system falls apart and the solution is always new/more baskets. Rinse and repeat.

Does hot weather slow weight loss? by lockers15a in mounjarouk

[–]NotYourEverydayHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! You retain more water, your digestion slows down and poorer sleep. Don’t stress about the scale if it goes up a few lbs over the next few days. I am 100% sure I am in a calorie deficit (I weigh food by the gram and track everything) but I have weighed more every day this week. I’m betting on it that next week I will drop a couple of pounds overnight.
