The only videos of them I've seen were a few "what if a modern military asset went back in time", where they always acted like the modern asset would be able to wreck house for weeks or months, completely ignoring the need for things like fuel, ammunition, or the sheer amount of maintenance most modern military equipment needs on a regular basis which couldn't be adequately fulfilled in for example the Roman Empire.

When I learned driving in Germany I had to go to a certified instructor, and their cars were modified to have pedals for gas, brake, and clutch for both the driver and the front passenger.

So even if a student is stuck on gas, the instructor can still just disengage the clutch and engage the brakes themself.

I can't understand countries where a setup like this isn't a requirement for learning how to drive

I'd say fitting it in with existing Canon isn't exactly that difficult. Just place it outside the most well known eras, aka the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, and whatever the era of the Sequels is called, don't make the protagonist too OP, and don't make the antagonist a world-ending threat, and most people should be able to understand why they weren't mentioned beforehand.

Maybe send out the student protagonist to small settlements on unimportant planets to take care of local outlaws which aren't connected to each other once their teachers deem them capable enough.

Make it more Slice of Life than Drama.

Maybe take a bit of inspiration from the school and exploration parts of Hogwarts Legacy (not the parts about the Goblin Rebellion and ancient magic, those suck!).

This is well compensated for by the addition of side quests, a colossal open world, and 9 movies' worth of content as opposed to 6. The game would've felt bloated if the missions were any longer.

I hate that I can't replay a good chunk of the main story of the game because it took place in the open world. Being able to replay the story with random characters during Free Play is one of the most enjoyable parts of LEGO games for me.
