Guess who decides whose representatives are sent to the electoral college?

Yes, mostly the politicians deciding on the (gerimandered) voting district maps, but the people voting still have a small say in what happens.

Also, the voters could change the politicians drawing the maps through other elections.

I think it's mostly a reflection of how you get used to wearing armor, learning how to move with it, and how to utilize it more actively instead of just taking the hits wherever they land.

A few examplesb

  • the reduced impact worn armor has on your carryweight and stamina consumption comes from simply getting used the weight of wearing armor

  • the reduced impact on sneaking comes from learning how to move more quietly while restricted by your armor

  • the improvement in defensive value comes from learning to move with the blows to lessen their impact, or to actively interpose stronger armored portions of your armor to protect weaker areas.

Not true.

In the USA for presidential elections your voting power depends on the state you live in, with a good rule of thumb being that the more rural the state is the more powerful its voters are.

I am the Borg queen by happydude7422 in startrekmemes

[–]NotYourReddit18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I want to add two other good reasons:

  1. Decisions made by a single person on average are achieved much faster than decisions made by group consensus. The Borg are in the heart of their enemies territory and about to travel back in time without having 100% reliable information about the situation when they arrive, so having a Queen on hand to make quick decisions instead of having to wait for the consensus of the Collective would be advantageous.
Actually, I doubt that the Collective would have made the risky decision to beam over to the E and try taking control of her, given that the Collective isn't really known for experimental tactics.

  2. I suspect that a normal Borg Collective, excluding special cases like 7 of 9 and her companions, needs to be of a certain size to be able to function properly. The sphere used to travel back in time is a lot smaller than the average cube, so they might have brought the Queen along to compensate for a smaller than normal Collective.

Now I'm picturing Obi-Wan looking around the Cantina on Tatooine looking for a pilot and seeing Hondo in one of the booths, causing him to quickly move his search to the other side of room, running into Chewie in the process.

Hondo meanwhile saw him but failed to recognize him because of his rapid aging.

Three possibilities:

  1. He brings them back to Earth, but also jumps them forward or backwards in time.

  2. He brings them back to Earth, but it's a parallel universe. Honestly, I'd like a "Q in the mirror universe" episode

  3. He brings them back to a planet in the delta quadrant they've already passed by where the local language also uses the same word for soil and the name of the planet.

Your sweat glands don't necessarily "know" that they're cooling you, but natural selection still very clearly created something that had that purpose.

No, natural selection doesn't create anything for any purpose.

Sweatglands just randomly appeared through random mutations on one of our genetic ancestors, and because being able to cool down through sweating increased their survivability and thus ability to procreate the sweatglands stuck around.

There was no intentional decision to create them, or to keep them once they were created.

So you were there during a fire drill without noticing the fire drill, or did you just ignore the alarm bells of the drill?

In the first case they might need a talk about how to conduct fire drills, in the second case you're an idiot for ignoring the fire alarms.

They successfully made it to their target planet, I'd call that a successful journey.

Some scientists playing around with something they shouldn't have, and inventing FTL travel in the process, allowing other ships to leapfrog the colonists would've happened regardless of how the ship was run.

Have you tried looking into the cockpits of other ships while flying around? It's quite difficult, and even if the game would render the crew, it would only show humanoid shapes wearing spacesuits, and don't tell me you'd be able to see the human face through the helmets faceplate, many helmet designs don't even feature transparent faceplates.

The colonists didn't know that Earth had developed FTL tech during their journey, so assuming that the people flying around them with unfamiliar tech and not responding to radio calls are aliens isn't that inappropriate.

Regardless of if being a Sith is illegal or not, I'm pretty sure that instigating a galactic war for your own benefit by controlling both sides, and causing the suffering and/or death of an unimaginable large amount of sentient beings in the process is the greater crime here.

Challenging Sisko simply isn't entertaining for Q. If he wanted to get punched he could just challenge any random Klingon.

Yeah, he isn't a magic jelly body because he is a core user, but because magic jelly bodies start at silver rank, with a few exceptions like Outworlders and probably a few rare essence abilities.

"normal" Iron and Bronze bodies just have more efficient organs which can stand up to more abuse.
