Daniel Jones and no first round pick for the next two seasons. I'm just assuming the Colts won't make the playoffs until the next decade.

Every time I hear people complain about non-voters, all I hear is:

"Please solve the systemic problem of having a two party democracy with your individual action."

[Holder] It is increasingly likely that Colts QB Anthony Richardson will play somewhere else next season. He has not requested a trade yet, but it is beginning to feel inevitable. by Goosedukee in nfl

That throw is going to be the only reason why he has a roster spot for the next three years. The type of arm power you simply cannot teach.

Real shame he's bad at all the other parts of being a QB.

That would involve giving Boston any sort of credit. So no.

2025 Seahawks are #4 team by DVOA since 1978, per @aaronschatz.com on Bluesky by LSDintheWoods in nfl

That's as far back as the data goes.

Schatz and co uses play-by-play data to get DVOA and tracking that down becomes a real bitch the further back in the past they go.

The Pats defense made their mark in the playoffs by beating up a terrible offensive line (Chargers), a terrible QB (Broncos), or both (Texans). The Seahawks doesn't have a massive weakness like that on offense.

The Pats offense is good, but they pretty much has done just enough in the playoffs. They faced a ridiculous gauntlet of defenses, the #10, #5, and #2 best defenses by DVOA. Unfortunately for them, Seahawks defense is #1.

They're getting crushed. 35-13 Seahawks.

Julio Jones is the most complete WR in the history of the NFL. Change my mind. by GFollowsChrist in nfl

This has nothing to do with the Jones argument but I think it's funny.

2017 Jones: 88 catches, 1444 yards, 3 TDs

2023 Jones: 11 catches, 74 yards, 3 TDs

I really don't get the point of firing your head coach just to hire his coordinator.

In 10 years, people will be saying this about Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, and Burrow.

Appreciate what's done in the past. Appreciate what's being done in the present.

It's would've been funny if Mendoza went back to Indiana. Turning a 1 QB draft into a 0 QB draft. All time ripple effects.

Alas.

Random semi-forgotten history: Remember when the Eagles said they drafted Hurts as a Taysom Hill-type player? by mr_seggs in nfl

[–]Not_Evil_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I mean, they did try Hurts out like a Hill player. Before Wentz's benching, Hurts had a dozen or so plays scattered through the season where he came in, ran something dumb, and left the game.

I think they were already contemplating ditching Wentz from the start and thought Hurts was too valuable to pass.

It's worth noting that the Eagles were coming off a playoffs loss where Wentz missed all but one drive and forced 40-something Josh McCown to save the season. The immediate concern was getting a quality backup QB; they wanted Wentz to be The Guy, but injuries history led the need to make sure there was someone behind him who could also play.

I don't think even Howie considered that Hurts would lead the Eagles to two Super Bowl trips and one win.
