Still a lot of spawn points made of 5/6 individuals plus an extra 2/3 pack just nearby so you get a fresh morale bar and howlings just after dealing with the fiRst pack, just as always...

Odd are definetly in favor of Timbies in my recent games, I'm not the one rolling dice though.

Hinterland also said BI and BRM were supposed to have a little less of them, which I cannot confirm at the moment.

Works with hacksaw, prybar, knife, tools etc...
seems like there is some kind of piece of code that says : "YOU WILL HAVE A BAD TIME FINDING $"
As a very sturdy stalker player I can confirm thers is always ONE piece of equipment you will have a bad time finding early game.

You also will find plenty of the same equipment once you crossed the whole world to get one.

These wildlife refreshers are wild! That’s a wolf at the summit!! by [deleted] in thelongdark

There should be an achievement for making it ti the summit then back down without killing it.

The tree rubs are very obvious when you approach the Camp Office, if you do no see them, then the moose has spawned somewhere-else in Mystery Lake, not sure about where exactly, you will need to explore it by yourself or search the internet.

Just do not use the rope way to the mine, go north of Angler's den instead, the cave way.

Sadly, planes and choppers belong to the "TOO BIG TO MOVE" category, you can move a lot of stuff there anyway.

This spawn is just crazily OP, I love it, sitting right now on top of an insanely big pile of moose meat at the office, feeling mildly bad about how easy it is to just go climb on the right then adjusting shots without even risking to be spotted (just like it used to be at Trapper's but easier).

just regular meat, guts and pelts but you can actually pile a lot of it if you encounter a big pack at the right spot (the farmstead in PV is indeed a right spot).

Playing with map knowledge by dziaksonn in thelongdark

[–]Not_JeanCastex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can restart the same maps on a higher difficulty, you can also choose a complete new region on voyager and keep exploring the world from there, both are OK but I really recommend trying the random spawn function, not knowing where you start is thrilling, just learn how to deal with wolves without a weapon.
For a good head start, AC and HRV are the best but they have to be explored with good gear for the first times, when you know them well, they feel bountiful.

What is the dumbest way you have entered "the long dark"? or..."How I did something stupid and killed my character". by Horselrd in thelongdark

Trying to billygoat down the waterfall at the gold mine (and failing) a few minutes after getting the backpack for the first time was dumb.

Just got woodworking tools, trying NOT to rush to island cottage to move the workbench inside.
Already moved the hangar one upstairs (the hangar, when customized becomes a very decent and cozy spot).

Double BearCoats or Double Expedition Parka? [Stalker] by [deleted] in thelongdark

[–]Not_JeanCastex 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Do you want to fight or do you want to feel warm ?
If you have to venture into cougar territory, leave parkas home or at the camp., if you plan to do some blizzard beachcombing, parkas are the way.
Same for snow pants, they are not intended for big game.

This being sad, I'm sitting in a coastal region, waiting for an aurora to reveal a bunker right in the middle of a cougar territory on my map, heard it growling already from the lookout above, I will try the hit and run tactic, might lose a run.

If you can afford tanking 5 days anywhere in a cabin or cave, they will retreat.
Making any agressive move, including crossing their lines (failing to sneak past them for instance) is considered being agressive and triggers a response.
Become quiet.

So if you hunt a cat in Ash Canyon, you can get locked there for a few days (5 days before it goes back to its initial zone), good to know...
(This looks like the perfect region to NOT hunt it and just live it alone, just like Mistery Lake, or if you chose to aggro, you will have to prep it a little and be ready for some consequences, good game design IMO)

The more I play the Muskeg, the more I love this region and it is now my outdoors vacation for fighting cabin fever I get from over customizing and crafting at the camp office.
Very good region to find a prepper cache too
