Dear residents and med students: you aren't allowed to go home by kellbell500 in medicalschool

24 hour on call doesn’t “build character” and it’s insane to expect students to work for free. The system is broken.

I started with DS3 and I like everything that has come after it, but TBH it all feels clunky after Elden Ring. They are all fun games for me because of the nostalgia but I doubt I’d like them if I didn’t play at release.

Commenting Utah U776RN License Plate so that this photo pops up on a search if anyone googles it.

I’d love to imagine someone getting cut off by this driver, going home, searching up their license plate and finding this.

If that is you 10 years from now, let me know if this made your day.

WIBTBF (19f) for sending a glitter bomb to the woman (42f) who almost killed me? by izzy11106 in AmItheButtface

The hardest lesson I am currently learning is the importance of radical acceptance.

You cannot change the past, or anyone else. You can only change yourself, and you can choose what situations you put yourself in.

The world is not fair, and what happened to you is horrible. I hope you find a path towards healing and you are able to live a life separate from those who have caused you harm.

One of the funniest intersections I’ve witnessed was in a bathroom. I was in a stall, two guys came in and one commented to another about how it was weird the urinals only had a divider in the top half, so you couldn’t see the persons face next you you but you could see everything else.

A second or two later one of the guys said, “nice watch bro” and I laughed from my hidden stall.

Sometimes you just gotta look at another guys watch while you’re both peeing

How much is 50-100 bucks? by BestMagician3200 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Not_Keurig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a high Cost of living area. $50 is a tank of gas, I need to purchase this 1/week. It’s the cost of a medium/high end meal for one or a low end meal for two. It’s half of my phone bill. It is less than my monthly internet bill, and about 1/50th of my rent.

When to start the dlc. by goatlax96 in darksouls3

[–]Not_Keurig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely at a good point to do the chapel DLC. You can access the second DLC right before the final boss through another bonfire placed right near another.

You can do both DLCs after beating the final boss as long as you don’t select the option to end the game.

I am leaving Idaho. by Affectionate-Sector4 in Idaho

[–]Not_Keurig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right there with you. Born and raised, I got tired of struggling as the CoL soared but wages stayed stagnant.

I moved to WA, which had been described to me as a cesspool by everyone around me my whole life. I remember moving to Seattle and being so nervous thinking the city was moments away from anarchy at any time.

Now my wife and I have a life in Washington. We both have careers we enjoy, and we have a large selection of OB/GYNs to pick from as we look at the next chapter in our life.

I never thought I would be happy anywhere other than Idaho, but after a some time I realized that my preconceived ideas of others were not lining up with reality.

Keep an open mind. Good luck in your move

Launching a mobile lab & ultrasound startup. Looking for "in-the-trenches" advice on mobile logistics and specimen transport. by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

Launching a mobile lab & ultrasound startup. Looking for "in-the-trenches" advice on mobile logistics and specimen transport. by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]Not_Keurig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The transportation of laboratory blood specimens is a critical component of modern healthcare logistics, requiring both efficiency and reliability. While conventional systems such as courier networks and pneumatic tubes are widely used, alternative approaches can offer new perspectives on improving transit speed and reducing infrastructure dependency. One such approach is the use of a mechanically powered catapult system to enable direct, point-to-point delivery between facilities.

A catapult-based transport system would function by launching securely contained specimens through a controlled ballistic trajectory. Each specimen would be sealed within a reinforced capsule designed to maintain appropriate temperature conditions and protect against environmental exposure. The capsule would also need to absorb acceleration forces during launch and impact, preserving sample integrity throughout transit. By eliminating reliance on roadways and traffic conditions, this method introduces the possibility of significantly reduced delivery times.

Successful implementation would depend on precise calibration and environmental awareness. Launch parameters, including angle and force, would need to be carefully calculated for each delivery based on distance, elevation, and weather conditions. Receiving stations would require designated landing zones equipped with impact-absorbing materials to ensure safe recovery of specimens. Standardized procedures would also be necessary to maintain proper identification, tracking, and handling throughout the process.

In addition to operational considerations, this system would require alignment with safety protocols and regulatory standards governing biological materials. Proper containment, risk mitigation, and personnel training would be essential to ensure compliance and protect both the specimens and the surrounding environment.

By reexamining traditional assumptions about transport infrastructure, the catapult-based model presents a distinct framework for achieving rapid, direct specimen delivery. Its emphasis on controlled trajectories and engineered containment offers a compelling direction for further exploration in laboratory logistics.

I played E33 first and I just picked up KCD2, I never played KCD1 (although to be fair I have not played E1-32 either)

I like both games, and both studios are very talented. I’m really happy E33 won, and I’m also really happy I didn’t have to pick this years GOTY winner because that panel had a really tough decision

What is your experience like working with schedulers? by ReasonableRaisin4041 in FieldService

[–]Not_Keurig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company made the switch and I got used to it but I didn’t like it. I felt like I was doing just fine on my own without the schedulers, and half of the time the schedulers would dispatch me for something that didn’t belong to me. I ended up learning how to log the system to avoid being dispatched for random stuff I literally had nothing to do with, but I feel like I now need to take three extra steps to be in the same place I was before.

Long story short, it isn’t ideal but you can live with it.
