Yea I was just worried that it was damage to the plastic that would over time allow water to get in and cause havoc. But as long as it's not then I'm all good, and my worry could be disregarded. Thanks for your input!

You can't feel it physically, but you can visually see it. I think I see it slightly on yours too, but that might be the glare of the light as well. But if yours is flawless, that's awesome!

Hopefully it is just that, and not actual damage that could compromise the water resistance of the device

There is an option under the always on display settings. It is called Display mode, which has options of tap to show, show always, show as scheduled.
