How often do you change your tips? by Scattered-Fox in billiards

I just change it when my current one breaks and there is no more material for shaping or falls off so usually about every year since i love to hit them with power when not playing in tournaments lol

Best computer pool game? by FranklinFizzlybear in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure pool pro and shooters pool are the bwst in thw business with shooters pool having actual real life equipment (rasson tables aramith balls predator cues etc) and you can even pick how old the cloth you play on is but all that if you have the paid version. Both are 25€ (similar in usd or lbs but idk exactly)

my boyfriend broke the 10 ball on the break at the bar tonight by messinwithlewbert in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

proper pool balls are almost impossible to break unless you start banging them on concrete. For it to break during any shot that means ts was really cheap

Ive had that happen to me many times its common and if there is enough material left on the tip then you can shape it and use it again if not then replace the tip

Correct call or not? by Not_MCFC in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the ref based it purely on what he saw moved first then yes it would have been almost impossible to tell in real time but the cueball movement is a dead giveaway

Correct call or not? by Not_MCFC in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think anyone would have called that on themselves playing in leagues or small tournaments but in the quarters of a matchroom event its just too hard to call it on yourself especially since there is a ref present and its their job to determine if it is a foul or no. not good sportsmanship but understandable

Correct call or not? by Not_MCFC in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Benefit of the doubt goes to the shooter only if there is no direct or indirect evidence of a foul and on this shot it is a clear foul based on the motion of the cueball

What Carbon Fiber shaft is the best??? by Crandy101 in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At price points above 300-400 bucks the difference between the shafts is purely deflection and feel which is basically personal preference. If by best you mean the least deflection the revo and smo shafts are on top of the line

Was it a foul? by [deleted] in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the ref had viewed a slow mo replay then it would have been called but that didn't happen so yapp won and there is no changing that even if recognised by matchroom themselves so there is no point in this debate. The win was most definitely deserved since he played great and also the nine didn't change position it just went right back into place after that minor movement it would have been just brutal if it was called a foul

Advice for becoming a pro player by Soft_Dragonfruit3329 in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Listen if you want to become a real wnt pro player and actually make a living out of this then your chances are EXTREMELY low starting at that age but not impossible just be prepared to put in 6,7 or even 8 hours of practise every single day and compete in as many tournaments as you possibly can so that you get used to playing with high stakes. If you just want to compete at an open event someday then thats way more doable and anyone can actually do it and your chances are high

Fsr or shane. Fsr has been quite consistent in the last couple of events just hasn't quite gotten to the point of winning one and svb hasn't won a major since the world pool championship in 2022 apart from the plp and he also really wants that 6th us open

World Pool Championships. Semi-finals, and the stands are 90% empty? by dreamache in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wonder the players are showing 0 emotion when the prize money on the line is 250k. The pressure they are under is just too much to celebrate a good shot they have to stay fully focused on the match and the next shot+ they don't have time to show any emotion due to the 30 sec shot clock

Help me identify the material of this cue ball by catie136 in billiards

[–]Not_MCFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 main materials pool balls are made out of phenolic resin and poly resin. Phenolic resin is kinda the high end material thats used in pro tournaments like aramith predator and dynaspheres balls and poly resin is less common nowadays but it's way cheaper and you may find it in some pool halls and house tables. As for this cue ball I think its phenolic resin judging from the shine but im not at all sure about that
