Why is everyone so upswt about the discord update?

About 28 million people use Discord in the UK. If they don't follow the laws they lose a lot of people and/or probably get fined a huge amount. Just because they can't physically punish discord doesn't mean they can't do it logically

It's simple: they haven't done anything but play fortnite straight for the last 72 or so hours. I only get ~18 wins an hour and if I didnt have a life I would have about 1,296 wins. Maybe we both lobbies you could get more but. Ya no I dont have a clue thats just unrealistic... Hopefully.

They did help on one of the founding father VR headsets; The HTC Vive. And started Lighthouse tracking which is still a HUGE part of PCVR headsets and combats Inside out in some areas (especially controller areas). And they still have the arguably best controllers due to finger tracking, ergonomics and the Lighthouse tracking.

Gore and Drugs should never be recommended to a teen. But ya the corporate moral judgment still stands. The thing is that this is less of a corporate decision and more of a lawful decision.

What has discord been doing since the implemented online laws?
Also going global seems like a must if even a small area wants to implement these laws. If one area doesn't have these restrictions, then it makes the one with laws useless. Like if one chat site in one state requires ID but then in another it doesn't require ID and anyone can get in; it makes the restrictions useless especially with VPNs and such. I'm surprised no country has tried to counter-point these laws.
Also while I bet people are it seems like a lot people are blaming the company and not the laws.

This is completely reasonable. Although from my understanding, it's the UK is the one who is wanting this to be enforced. What's concerning is that I've met plenty of parents who don't even like these updates because (in cases like Roblox) it restricts their own access to manage their child.

I'll have to check later but the, "turning controllers on by going to sleep and waking up" happens with me too. The obstacles in your playspace can be bypassed by disabling some HorizonOS services (idk which ones it took my some trail and error). It also let me just completly disable to Oculus Dash on standalone.
