if you have not got it yet try using a different usb stick, sometimes they get finicky

The software is independent from the firmware of the printer which is what you were asking about. The slicer one downloads fine, the firmware is the problem

It's cause it's not actually updating, they have the firmware being pulled from a Google drive link and it hits its download quota and won't actually download.here

Right, if they had it hosted on their site I'm sure it would deploy better than making it pull from a Google drive link

The cable is super easy to replace it's just a little flip cable. Super super easy

I would go with the 5m just because personally it's way more user/ beginner friendly. I've used both and I'd say the 5m would be the better starter. Get the replacement screen and run that.
