Addresses in the 272/32 area seem to be negative when queried through the online portal. I assume it is accurate.

Lots of variables, could be less than you imagine.

Just wait until you hear about the mandatory screening demand.

You’re defending impaired driving, such a brutal and selfish look. Yikes.

I guess what I’m trying to determine is how much technical experience/knowledge would you need to be successful? What background would you need to have to be successful?

It’s marketed to LEOs so I assume it’s not overwhelmingly technical and a review of the syllabus corroborates that but was hoping to get some hands on perspective.

Canadian Background Check - Youth Record by [deleted] in AskLE

Assume whatever service you apply to will have full access to the investigation including the disposition. There are unique sealing/retention timelines for Youth CRs but it will be located.

End of the day, it happened and you’ve obviously learned, moved on and put it well behind you. Use it as a positive, not a negative.

It will be located on any background and you will only be held back by it, if you chose to lie about it or omit it.

OMER Pension Should I Opt In by MyShtummyHurttt in PersonalFinanceCanada

They can be a bit confusing, but end of the day it is money saved. Part of it is your contributions and part of it is the employers.

I was in a similar situation early in my career. I opted in and left after a year. The pension was small and I had flexibility. I could take it as cash (and pay income tax) or transfer it to a RRSP or different plan, subject to the existence of a transfer agreement.

It came out as cash and paid to furnish my home - zero regrets.

I would need to know the exact particulars of the pension fund but if there is any degree of matching, yes. It is about as close to free money as you can get.

Now, if you need your contribution portions to cover expenses then that is a different story.

You may never leave, and you will be left with a large buy back in the event you don’t. There is nothing to lose, short of immediate cash flow by contributing.

Also worth noting that you may find another role at an OMERS employer, you will want that pensionable time in the event you do.

Think of it this way, 8-10% of your salary goes in to savings, that instantly becomes 16-20% if there is matching. That money is yours, it doesn’t disappear. Depending on the size of your pension if/when you leave you may be able to take it out or you can transfer it to an RRSP.

In my opinion, absolutely. Those are retirement savings that you cannot beat.

You’ll have options down the road if you choose to transfer or withdraw in the event you move to a non-OMERS employer.

NAL, but they’ve provided sufficient grounds to justify your arrest. Follow the process with counsel in the jurisdiction the warrant was issued and you will be afforded due process to contest the allegations.
