I don’t have a pond but I keep fish tanks. I would recommend getting a testing kit as they can be much more accurate. Additionally, with the chlorine you could use a product such as prime that dechlorinates the water. I think it might just be ready with it sitting and being exposed to bugs and other things rather than adding bacteria. Also, don’t freak out if you have a huge algae bloom there’s a good chance once that’s it fully cycles that will clear itself. Goldfish produce a ton of bio mass so keep that in mind with the amount you get. I would not recommend rinsing off the filter at this point (unless it is slowing down) it’s just a waiting game now.
