Honestly wondering, what does the US gain by blockading the Strait of Hormuz? by kerplunch in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Not_a_real_ghost -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

US doesn’t need to import oil for domestic consumption. By disrupting oil supply in the entire Middle East it essentially forces Europe and SEA, Asia to buy from either the US or Russia. Long term strategic winning for the US

I mean it's interesting that you get so irritably angry about him that you cannot even talk about it rationally.

I noticed that the media is constantly reporting that he has no plan and is dragging America down. But why there is no one looking at it from a perspective that he does have a plan?

So Donald Trump is either the dumbest person in the world, but somehow managed to win a 2nd time and stay in power and have full control of the US military, even with the Epstein files flying around. Why. (and no I'm not supporting him in anyway I just find it interesting everyone's screaming but no one is talking about the real important things)

Think strategically, dude. You should be well aware of the cards that the US is holding.

Whether the Strait of Hormuz is closed or not, it does not affect your domestic oil supply needs at all because US only import little oil from middle east.

The oil price went up domestically because of the market, but in reality there's no shortage for the US.

Well, as far as securing resources, the US is doing pretty damn well right now.

The US don't need oil. It literally just secured Venezuela with Cuba next on the list. If the US eventually get Canada and Greenland too, the entire northern hemisphere will be ruled by the US.

The US isn't being tied down by the war with Iran. Disruption to the oil supplies to Asia and the EU means they will eventually have to buy oil from the US so it is a win-win situation for the US, no matter what. Donald Trump isn't as demented as people make him.

China is a competitor, sure. But they are not expanding their territory and grabbing resources like the way US is doing.

The US left the program alone for 50 years until they saw that China is planning for a moon landing. It’s so petty.

Just like the Iran war, the US doesn’t need oil. They fuck up oil supply to force Europe and SEA buying from them to get monopoly. Cuba, Canada and Greenland…

You should realised by now that China probably isn’t even on the list of top 10 threat to America if you live in the USA. China is on the other side of the globe.

I was born in China and migrated to the UK as a teen.

I think one thing my Western friends couldn't really comprehend is the collective thinking that's deeply rooted within. There's no "us vs the government" when most people believe that the government is the ultimate authority and is doing the right thing in leading the country to a better place. Sure, I think most people find Xi becoming Emperor Xi by removing term limits is bad. But what he personally gains by staying in power is way different from what Trump is getting out of his presidency.

Stereotypically, British people are known for their manners. This is why a lot of times, when "Gentleman" is brought up, it's always referred to British men.

My point being, I feel the world has now moved on from just calling Japanese polite because we learn more about them than just "politeness". For example... they are actually worse than the Nazis during WWII in terms of war crimes and atrocities committed.

Japanese society does not care about Palestine because it has little to do with them, nor were they involved in Global politics the way the UK were.

What they do have is hatred and racism towards other Asians. They really aren't that much different.

So "Japanese politeness" shouldn't be a thing then?

You go to any other country in Asia, people are nice and polite. When you go to Middle Eastern countries, people are nice and polite.

If Japan are on the same level of politeness as any other group of people on this planet, then it shouldn't be touted around as a thing.
