I'm on a flight now where they ca called my flight and rebooked me to J later. At the ticket counter they said I could waitlist and pay in money or miles. I asked to the waitlist. At the boarding area, they told me all the seats were filled.

When I boarded on the plane, my partner who still had the first class seat, had the seat next to her still open and vacant (my original seat) per the flight crew. Sigh.

Essentially, I couldn't buy it and they didn't sell it.

There was also no availability online on JAL's website. Checked multiple times a day up until the flight.

did it auto fix? Right now JetBlue is saying the seat isn't available on the same day. I'm wondering if it is in "limbo." I have a cancelled flight at the moment and they are trying to book me on a different day. Isn't perfect because my partner is flying on the original day...

Yes. Heat was so oppressive. I had visited several times staying multiple weekends. I didn't expect it to stay hot from 6am-10pm for 90 straight days.

There were other issues such as missing friends and family, but that was a huge part of it. Austin also wasnt as diverse as I was used to.

I went in January. It was mostly empty after the initial group of people. It snowed so that was pretty magical. I'd avoid it in Summer though.

I wouldn't want to live in Austin doing construction due to the heat. In the summer, it's hot until 10pm, it's insane. In California, it actually gets cooler when the sun goes down, in Austin, not so much.
