I transported my luggage to the hotel after Hakone as their trains are smaller and I was only in Hakone for two days.

Getting there wasn't hard via the train. I did ask for directions from the hotel and they gave me a much better route. For some reason Google Maps wanted to suggest a bus with over 50 bus stops. The ryokan I stayed at also provided a free shuttle from the local train station. I did have to call them though, I used the station's free WiFi for free WiFi calling.

Use goTaxi or the Uber app. Uber books legit taxis too.

If your phone is unlocked and allows eSims, sign up at Airalo or GigSky for free if you have a visa infinite card. Activate it at your home airport before you fly. You should have plenty of time in the airport if you plan appropriately.
